A couple of days ago I was running (I use that term very loosely) on my treadmill, watching a DVD sermon by Louie Giglio...and I was BLOWN AWAY! I want to share what I learned....but I fear not being able to convey it as well as I want. I will share anyway.

Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who
created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart...how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath. And it wasn't because I was running my treadmill, either!!! It was because he started talking about laminin. I knew about laminin. Here is how wikipedia describes
them :'Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue.' You see....laminins are what hold us together....LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn't know is what laminin LOOKED LIKE.


Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!!
Amazing. The glue that holds us together....ALL of us....is in the shape of THE CROSS, Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.


'He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all
creation. For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible,whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things HOLD TOGETHER. Colossians 1:15-17


Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool.
Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin,Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together...one cell to another....by the cross.

You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin 'glue' would look like long before Adam even breathed his first breath!!

If these cells are really messages from YOUR God then I think it is starting to get clear. Look at these potassium ion channels that are all through the brain. They are shaped like Swastikas. I guess you guys think Hitler was doing "Gods work" like that TV preacher said

Really.

The idea that a molecule, when draw up as a schematic diagram, appears to resemble a cross implies that God purposesly designed it that way to be a reminderd that he had men slaughter his son on a pole is really bizzare to begin with.

Don't these people realize that if it was God's plan all along to have his son slaughtered on a pole by men that men never had a CHOICE long before Adam and Eve were even created?

Long before man even supposedly fell to sin it was all PREDETERMINED?

That's nothing short of sick.

That implies that mankind is nothing more than a puppet to a preplanning God who lusts for blood sacrifices. If you look at the whole picture like that this would be a sci-fi movie and the "God" would be the demented sadistic villian preplanning all this terrible crap.

And then religious people romanticize this stuff and stand there saying, "Oh how lovely".



The very idea of romantizing a man being nailed to a pole is disgusting in the first place.

And the idea that "God so loved the world" that he had previosuly dunked all humanity under water is pretty sick too.

I make no apologies for my attitude here considering the topic.

When people try to make out that something things like the shape of particular molecule somehow indicates that that the biblical stories are true I have to object to such foolishness.

Any chemist will tell you that molecules come in so many differnt shapes that you can most likely find one in any shape you please. And then you can find a reason associate with its purpose to like that to anything you like.

Like Rabbit points out there are molecules in the brain that are shaped like Swastikas.

Does that mean that Nazi thinking must be the epitome of thought?

I don't think so.

The structures of what make up this material reality are based in what people call "sacred geometry." Do a study of sacred geometry and you will see all the structures that make up material things.

The created and manifested universe indeed is something to marvel at. The miracles or the wonders that point to a designer or creator are everywhere.

BUT these things do not point to any specific religion or dogma or doctrine or holy book and they DO NOT in any way prove or point to any particular named god. (Jehovah, Jesus, Allah, Shiva, Sat Nam, Sugmad, Zeus, Yahweh, Satan, Lucifer, Apollo etc.)

That is amazing....

To think that God is mindful of us in a vast huge universe. We are like a spec of dust compared. Yet He is mindful of us.

The problem is Debbie, that you're basically suggesting that this is a sign from your God that he buried in molecules knowing that science would someday discover it and reveal the truth of his existence.

Such a notion is truly absurd.

I realize that you like to romanticize the biblical God, AND try to claim that there are all these signs that he must exist.

But this is no sign. It's absurd to claim that it is. I majored in chemistry in college. I can assure you that you can find plenty of molecules in just about any shape you can imagine.

To claim that this is some kind of sign from the Biblical God is truly absurd and just goes to how out totally unrealistic believers can be.

Try looking at something a little more concrete right in the actual doctrine that is supposed to be the history of this God.

One momment the God is pouring water on humanity to drown them all out. The next momment he's so in love with humanity that he sends his only begotten Son to purposefully be nailed to a cross to save mankind from his own sinful ways.

That a sign that the stories are totally inconsistent.

A supposedly unchanging God drowns humanity one minute and then love them so much that he sacrifices himself on a pole for them the next.

And then you're trying to claim that because a particular molecule resembles a cross shape when drawn as a schematic diagram that this is a sign from God?

I'm willing to bet that you can find a whole lot of molecules thtt have a configuration that can be drawn schematically to look like a cross.

It's just utterly absurd to be trying to suggest that this is some kind of sign from God.

I'm sorry Debbie, but truly it is.

This is just a cheap trick to try to proselytize a religious believe by trying to claim that there some miraculous unexplainable miracle in the very molecules that make up our body. A miracle that specifically points to JESUS

Yeah right.
