So, because a person made bad choices, then paid for said bad choices, he/she should continue to pay ad infinitum?

And we are qualified to pass judgment on his decisions how?

Not ME, it's the law.. Go to jail (which means under one year) and you can have a gun. Go to prison( One year or more) and you can't ever have anything to do with firearms ever again. That's the law, Congress passed it, not elwood..
sorry but that is a dumb law..... if they went to prison and it had nothing to with violence or firearms i dissagree with the law...

maybe he wants gun shooting for a hobby? at a target practice place or to go hunting? why should he not have that right? id say a better hobby than selling drugs!

I have a felony....very minor...pot to begin with, enough in the house for at least three joints, a misdeamor to start with then a 10 year old vcr came into play...making it a felony. 7,000 dollars later, I cannot vote right now...I cannot get a good paying job. I cannot own a gun or even be in a house that has one. I cannot carry any kind of weapon to defend myself with.
I cannot even have a license to serve liquer. Try getting a job in a restaurant that has half a chance to make money that doesn't serve alcohol.

Differing degrees of felonies does not always mean better treatment.

Ok I'm going to play devil's advocate here.... don't most drug charges, sells etc, go hand in hand with gun dealers? I mean, aren't they almost always both involved?

i hear ya i dont have any but got a dui once for just the limit!!! and i was treated like people that had 5 times the limit.... its all messed up... not on my record though i did what i had too..... and i wasnt even the limit when they pulled me over.... i swigged my drink down.... and was 2 min from house and 2 min from bar!!! 1 1/2 hr later they gave me the test! then they treat a person with a joint or grahm whatever u call them lol i dont do it ... the same as a person with a pound measured up etc unreal.... usually its the person with the smaller amount that pays more with life.....

You talkin to me?? If so, then here it is. I lived in another town 200 miles away from my ex boyfriend. He had all my stuff. I would try and get it back little by little. It was working. Til one day he hit me and I sent his ass to jail. Then again I went back when playing nice to get my stuff and he went off again and broke ALL the windows out of my car. Again...he went to jail. This pissed him off to no end. He had this vcr that belonged to his mom at one time. He had it for over three years. I took him to the pawn shop to get whatever he could out of it. He forgot his wallet. I was on my way out of town and it was closing in like 10 minutes. So the sales guy said I could sign for it and give him the ticket. I never had it in my hand and it is on tape I never received the money either. Well, anyway in his pissed off mood he told his parents I pawned his vcr. The vcr became a charge and they ran it together with that small amount of pot they found in his house and charged me with it first, then him. It was in HIS house, not on me. But, I was there getting my clothes and they came in. I was also charged with paraphanalia and conspiracy. They found some seeds in his pocket of a jacket and a thing to hold a joint with.
He was not a dealer. I mean he sold some, but he did most of it. He has never owned a gun. Three joints and a 10 dollar vcr, and I own a felony for life.

i agree with this if he was going to be naughty about it why go through all the trouble and be legal when he know then he will be watched more closely... when he can get a gun off the street for free?

nothing is the way its on cops..... ever been a victum? cops never helped me when i was....... seems they protected the people that had crimes... and were victumizing me.... not a thing happens when they have a restraining order against them and try to chop your legs off by trying to hit a car<with another car> door while u are putting your child in a seat straping them in.... nope they just lose the case file......

lol I could have very well been one of those on cops at one time in my life. But, not this time. I was being a good girl I had a job and was doing good, til this crap.
I was not always good though. I have a checkered past. It all caught up with me in the long run.
I really should have gone to prison myself in my younger years.

uh oh...this thread has been hijacked. Sorry.
