dinner dates aren't all too great in general. yes, you talk to her and get to know her, but there's a perspective you really don't seem to see. you don't do too much on these dates, and it doesn't allow for personality to shine through. you sit at a table, eat food, and talk. that's it. you can talk to them all you want, but you get such a limited look into who they are since all you do is sit and talk.

what makes them any good?

For starters, if I'm cooking, usually they say... FIRE! Then, about 10 minutes later they're eating chicken Marsalla, the way it's supposed to be made, and with the only utensil they'll need, a fork and a couple slices of garlic bread, to sop up the remains. If that doesn't do it, well, there really is no accounting for taste. laugh laugh laugh laugh

Okay, so who just got hungry?

I’ve had dinner dates become the end of the relationship. I’ve gone out with a girl and she lacked basic table manners. The worst part was the smacking…kinda eating with her mouth open. I decided there “I can’t listen to this every time we eat together.”

Maybe if we had done something else first, but as a first date…the relationship ended because the first date was dinner.

Well, my answer was a generalization of why people tend to go on the dinner date. The dinner date is the most common thing, especially within the first few dates...meet for dinner, right?

Personally...dinner dates are always a disaster for me, even if it doesn't send them running for cover. Being less experienced at dating than most high school kids...I get hand ringing nervous and end up spilling something, tripping someone or walking out of the ladies room with a tp on my shoe and my fly unzipped. noway So they actually are not a good thing for me. I think being a little more active and a my mind a little more occupied, would benefit me greatly at dating.

The problem for me with straying from dinner as a date, is finding something better to do that still allows you time and space to get to know the person. Just about anyone can have a scream at an amusement park, get jiggy at a concert, or be the life of the party at a night club, but none of those things allow for a chance at a real connection to take place. All you walk away with is a sense that the person is great to have fun with...most people can be.

So if not a dinner date, then what? huh

LOL! My kind of lady! I can overlook all that on a dinner date if you can! Except if I came out of the ladies restroom. Then again, it would most likely be in cuffs if I did (date over).

I like dinner dates at resturants but I like to cook the lady a nice meal at home when I can. Seems to relax things a lil more IMO.

Intelligent conversation with a beautiful woman who's totally into you. love

Wow, this would be nice, but for me really she doesn't have to be beautiful looking on the outside, just beautiful on the inside...and if we are feeling the Chemistry...Yowza!!!!flowerforyou
