I want to know with the world we all live in, how do you trust someone you met online enough to meet them? There are a lot of crazy people that are only out to hurt people.

you have to hang out in the forums with us.........the weird ones will show them selfs

first, don't rush into meeting them..take your time, as long as you want to get to know that person

I guess it depends on how long you've known them and how well you think you actually know them

Do not trust .Never .

With the world we live in, we decide to take the risk...We base risk off of possible benifit...so i guess your benifit needs to outweigh the risk...meaning you need to ask yourself the question "WHAT IF THIS IS REAL?" is it worth taking the risk?

That's why you don't give them your address. You meet them in a public place in the daytime.

When you feel as if you have known them well enought o meet them do it somewhere public and also try a webcam first and get to know them real well!!!

Yeah its pretty crazy to think of people meeting online and actually working, a few years ago that was unheard of. But i just think you have to be really careful there are still crazy people out there who want nothing but bad things,but you get to know someone enough and feel comfortable ,who knows he or she maybe the one for you. (Just Spend Time and Get to Know Them So You Are 100% comfortable)

It can be pretty difficult. I've only met one person from online, and I had been speaking with him for a while before I made that decision. You just have to be sure that you want to meet them. If you're worried, try a public place with a lot of people. It also might be nice to talk on the phone for a while first so you can get a better impression of them.

Bottom line: Trust your instincts and be careful.

i say... trust until they give you a reason not too... got to think positively in the world we live in today...

but do take your time till you feel a certain sense of comfort or what not till you decide to meet

There are several safety measures you can deploy when going on a date for the first time.

The best one is the timed phone call. You have a friend call your cell at a predetermined time...if your date isn't going well...or if you have been tied up with chinese bondage rope without your consent...help is on the way if you don't give the assigned "I'm ok" codeword.

After talking to people on the forums for over a month there are some people I feel that I have known all my life and I would trust them completely.

Get to know them well. If you don't want to spend the time to do that, just use precaution. If you don't trust someone, don't put yourself into any position that might be to your disadvantage if they were not what they seem.

If all else fails, do a background check. Get their real name and real address and real phone number. It they won't give those to you, then don't trust them and don't meet them anywhere.
