HI, a DVD wont play on a cd player. You have to get a special DVD
player, install it and the CD that comes with it to load the drivers and
you might need a special video card that has to be installed too. You
know who would be able to help is gryphyn. He is a wiz at this stuff.
Email him and ask. I know he will help

Good luck

Sushi...
your computer will need a DVD player, and software...
plus some modles will need a 3-D video accelerator card,
installed on the mainboard(motherboard)

you should be able to view a DVD if you have all of this...

if you cannot do this kind of work,
a computer repair tech should install the hardware...smokin

Thanks, but you're not telling me what I want to hear which is something
like,"OH yeah, no prob. just put it in." LOL I'm gonna go get a DVD and
cram it in one of the slots and see what happens. I e-mailed HP, but of
course will never get a response.

Go to your start menu, look for Windows Media Player, open it

On the Tools menu, click Options

Open the Devices tab

see if anything listed there says DVD

The only way a DVD will work inside a computer is if you have a DVD ROM
not just a CD ROM. it should say right on were you put the CD in if it
is a CD ROM. Or you can go to the MY Computer ice on and click it and
see what it tells you fro removable devices. But in all probability it
is more likely just a CD ROM if it is windows 2000 hope this inf helps.
As I am not familiar with 2000

You can, if your computer came with a dvd drive, or can connect to Windows media player.
