brotha you need to do a little more research and open your mind. we are
all the same. its the same as saying a man cant play football if he's black. or white. or indian. or whatever. do you realize that until the 70s black men werent even allowed to play the position of quaterback because they werent considered to have the mental capacity to play that position. and look how far we have come. there are gay people all around you i will bet that there is a man in your life that you respect greatly that is gay and you dont even know it. gay men can be just as masculine as any other and the same for lesbians are not all butch dykes. |

Gays play professional football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and
whatever else is out there. Most play under the radar, but in some cases a few teammates know. If they can play at that level, then whats the harm? |

I think that if your good your good..If a gay dude can grab 10 boards
and 20 some odd points a night Im putting his ass out there..But, I understand what some people ie. Tim Hardaway are sying because it would be for some, something to be concerned about in the locker room and threatening I guess. Its almost as if putting a guy in a womens locker room I guess, he's attracted to women and he's gonna like what he sees..If I was in a womens locker room I wouldnt be able to not be attracted to all of the naked women around me, thats just human nature. I am not sure if I am wrong or not but Gay guys are attracted to guys..But hey, If they can play they can play and thats pretty much it... |

well, it may not happen often, but dude when you,re right, you,re
right....if you put me in a locker room full of naked Vegas showgirls, forget it I,m looking and lusting, why would anyone think that a gay guy would,nt do the same??? |

I think that one thing that people are overlooking is that (at least
in the case of pro sports) this is their JOB. This is what they do for a living, and they are no more likely to allow their sexual orientation to endanger their ability to earn a living than you or I am. They might be gay but I expect that they would have a certain level of professionalism about themselves. |

Maybe, but still reality is what it is! ??? What does this mean anyway? Wanna explane? Kat |

Sure, I,ll explain....as I said earlier there are currently gays in pro sports, except for a few people they have trusted not to tell, it goes unknown, because there are owners teammates and fans that would not accept their lifestyle, thats just the reality of the matter.

There have always been gay player. I think most athletes would prob. rather not know about it. But if the dude can play then I think thats gonna make it less of a big deal.

whether or not he wants to divulge that kind of information is up to the player. i couldn't care less if they are gay but the reality is that some people don't like it. if you let that kind of information out they have to realize that there will be people acting out because of it and they will have be able to handle it

so if the quarterback fullback (no pun intended)
wide reciever (again no pun intended) of the 2008 super bowl winning team said that they were gay they would not be playing any longer i doubt that very much it is about the money |

dang left out the tight end
lol you can never leave out the tight end when talking about gays in sports.
i think that more people are accepting of the idea nowadays but i've heard a bunch of players from the past say that the problems that arose from them coming out made it a difficult work environment to outright saying that players and organizations black listed them. |

Men want to know this considering the close quarters and getting dressed
around gays, most straight men would be uncomfortable. first off, goping with this statement alone, if you are uncomfortable having a gay teamate then YOU are the one that needs to elave the game, not him! (or her). YOU are the one with the problem, not hte other person. And, no a person should not have to disclose his/her sexual preferances to their teammates. That is sexual discrimination, plain and simple. And finally, for those that state, "as long as they know I am straight and a friends/only p[erson then there is no problem" There is a problem; your attitude. I promise you that every single gay/lesbian person out htere (unless they are 15 years old and not experienced in dating) will know if you are attracted to them ornot, just like you know if a particular female (or man) is attracted to you. AND THEY WILL NOT PURSUE YOU if you are not interested in them as well. there is no "secret" communications that you can accidently give off to tell them you are interested, or what not. So grow up, and quit being so self centered. |

Nobody is saying that gays should,nt be able to play at a professional level, just that in most case they would,nt be accepted by owners, teammates and fans....except for figure skating, and that sort of stuff.
i disagree completely.
fans don't give a **** what orientation a player is...as long as they can make the goal. and why in the world would figure skating be singled out? that's stereotypical. |
Fans do care, and most male ice skaters are gay!
NOT most. many take up skating and then drop out due to the ridicule. many others are definitely straight...look at kurt browning or christopher bowman.
and have you ever watched ice dancing? those couples epitomize heterosexuality... |

don,t have a cow dude, just my opinion!
