Guys, has anybody interest to communicate with Russians?

From one hand it looks to me what Russia is not more interesting for Americans than Poland is interesting in Russia, but from the other hand USA is appointed as "the main enemy of Russia" and Russians are very exited about "what do real americans think".

If i'll see at least one person who would like to take participant i'll create the english-speaking branch on one of the popular Russian forum(*). Be aware - it is absolutely non-moderated forum (except flood) and you can read very sharp expression(**), racist words(***) and so on.

From the other side feel free to write anything what you think. It is not good place to lie.

*)i understand what it looks like an advertisement of the other resource, what can be forbidden here, so i'll stop any activity if moderator will prevent me

***)The Russians never knew what the racism is, so it is no more than a joke for them. Moreover, the notorious "n-word" has neutral or positive meaning in russian, but "black" applied to a person is very offended word. So, the ebony girls should be aware what "negrityanochka" means "sweet little black babe" :)

Its always a bonus to learn from others of their own countries than reading from books!!!

It is simple to explain. The racism came to Russia just in the very last years with capitalizm. So you can see it affects only new generation (below 25) and i'd like to say a few big cities like Moscow. For the others racism events as usual no more than mimicry and jokes.

So what you have read is about small groups of students. They role is overestimated for propaganda purposes.

But i have to admit in the feature this problem can grow indeed. Russian government need an enemy to explain why most of russians are pure despite of many oil-bucks.

I was in Ukraine for about 3 weeks a couple of years ago and i just loved it and i have always thought it was a hidden secret !! Russa is just afraid of us as we are of them and when i was there i enjoyed my time everyone was nice and the food was excellent !!

There are a lot of guys from Ukraine thee, so i think you will glad to talk with them



Ha-ha-ha. It is hard to believe. The American food is very different from russian food and as usual i used to hear what russian/american food is awful. The very last time i made a business trip with an American guy to Russia the very first thing he did after returning was getting big dish of honey backed ham murmuring something like "Oh, God, at least there's not that f***d smoked fish"

A good point to start with might be http://forum.moemnenie.info/forumdisplay.php?f=36 - there are a lot of photos made by users across of the world, but mostly in Russia. You can ask question about any photo in English - your post will be translated (by me and some other volunteers) and moved to the English-only branch.

The forum is non-commercial, there's no commercial ads, it was organized as attempt to create absolutely non-moderated communication channel with only one rule "no flame".

Though there's only one such branch on the forum today, and all the others are more-or-less moderated, but any way, our community is something between New-Hampshire (at least as i was told about it), anti-utopia fantasy and Heinlein's "The Moon is the harsh mistress".

Ask me if you need a help or guys with nicknames: Soapmaker owner of the domain, Worker - soccer fan, Topsik - journalist who goes to USA quite often.

Don't pay attention on posts in russian - it would be translations of your posts for non-english speaking user. While there's much more than one translator you can be sure the translation is as close to yours as possible.

I think it would be great to communicate more with the common russian people. If we could bypass our governments, I think we would see we have a lot more in common than people think.

From what I have seen from pictures, Russia and the former Soviet Republics are many beautiful places.

Their buildings and art are impressive.

I have always like the composer Tchaikovsky and I read several books by Solzhenitsyn.

Their athletes are very competitive as witnessed by their presence in the Olympics.
