I'm Just Me

You say I have a heart
That is as good as gold,
That I treat others with love
Whether young or old.
That I have a kindness
And a gentleness of my heart,
The way I form my prose
That I'm pretty darn smart.
You say that I am so giving
And that I really care,
That I give with respect
And I know how to share.
You're so kind with your comments
I don't know what to say,
I'm just me
I don't know any other way.

I'd rather make sacrifices
And give to all others,
Whether you are a sister
A brother or a mother.
I will lend you my heart
And even both my ears,
I will go the distance
And protect you from all fears.
Just to make others happy
Is my just reward,
To see a smile on your face
Is what I look toward.
I've never been selfish
Always giving of my soul,
You are the kindest friends
As my heart has told.
I'm just me
That's the way I've always been,
I'd rather do without
But my heart will always win.

All of you, my dearest friends, have been so kind to me with all of your comments, prayers, love and patience...that I dedicate this poem just for you. Gratitude in my heart, blessing in my soul and the best friends anyone could ever hope for. Thank you all...

All of your suggestions have always been with the best interest of the person in mind. To so many people you bring love warmth when there cold, a smile when there sad.
