I remember playing an early version of Doom and when I had finished an hour's session, my heart was beating and I was sweating and I felt seriously hyper.

Same last year with Unreal (Tournament)

Now although this didnt inspire me to violence, I was very buzzed.

So, can this type of entertainment be a danger?
If it isnt, why do they feel the need to rate it 18 (in the UK) I dont know what Grand Theft Auto IV is rated in the US, but Im sure it isnt for kids

ooo dear god... games do not make someone violent!! nor does music.. I am soo sick of hear this crap.. if someone is violent its prob their up bringing.. I have played alot of games an listen to anger music an you dont see me out there killing or anything

I think it was Harvard that conducted a study on this... results were negative. They couldn't find a relation between the two.

I've played these violent games all of my life, and there isn't the least inclination or desire for me to commit some sort of crime.

Although I love games, I will have to agree and say they do promote violence. I feel that over the years it desensitizes people.
