Hello, I'm "new" and I'm not sure this comment belongs here, but I have to start somewhere.

I would like to address the issue of posting a photograph. Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable having people I don't know looking at my picture? Is anyone else concerned about their privacy... maybe not wanting their ex to see their photo and go a little nuts?

I heard this guy who sits behind me in one of my classes talking the other day. He was discussing myspace with his friend. He said, "I don't even look at a girl's profile if she doesn't have her photo up. So, this girl was hot, but she was crazy and wanted to come over to my house right away. I thought she was crazy, but I told her to come over, and she said she would. I can't believe that, man!"

Does it ever occur to these guys that a girl can be pretty, or hot, and not want to display her picture all over the place? That a girl who is smart AND pretty might not want a stranger looking at her picture? Also, pretty and crazy sometimes come in the same package, dude!

And, no, I am not ugly. I was just hoping for the unthinkable- people who are interested in a person because of their sense of humor, personality, kindness and all that.

Hello, and I too am new here, about a month. But I would like to reply to GracieTracey and say what does your ex have to do with this, are you not moving on? Forget what the ex thinks and don't give him that power over you. But if you do put up a pic., think about the picture and how it represents you! some of the pics you got to wonder about,what are they thinking.Just remember Gracie that little pic can say a lot about you so just put some thought into it and have fun. Anyhow that's my opinion for what its worth and Hello to everyone else!

I'm a very new newbie and have a question. I apologize if this information is documented elsewhere, but what is the purpose of "quote," i.e., what purpose does it serve and when is it appropriate to use it? Also, is this the best forum for submitting questions or is there a better one (or one at all)? Thx.

Questions can be submitted in different forums but basically use feedback or bug forums if it's a site question.

If you have other questions use coff or chit chat forum.

Now as for use of i.e. or e.g.

I.e. is used when you want to say "that is"

e.g. is used when you want to include examples

e.g. I was late due to the inclement weather last week.
