Stop focusing on the age factor, rely more on the human factor. Whether you two get along, have similar interests etc.

I agree... I think there are a LOT of factors. Similar interests, place in life, and of course attraction. I think most relationships last because of a strong emotional and "physical" attractions. Ya gotta click.

I recently moved back to my hometown and it seems that every guy that I run into from my old high school days looks old, bald, and like death warmed over. Is it me or them?

Yes.

Maybe it's not the best place to live?

One interesting tendency is for married men to look better. People flourish with love, or in a good environment, and they often wither in a bad environment or without love. When you look at one of these men try to imagine them in better clothes (once they start caring or are happy again), better groomed (when they feel alive again), and shining with that glow that is a love of life from having joy in their hearts.

Although it isn't always easy I try to view people I meet with this "adjustment". I read on another posting list about people who are positive being more attractive, but in essense for the longest time rather than look for someone mindlessly happy, hip, popular, and motivated by greed I've been looking more for someone i can relate to, adore, and respect as a down to earth real person.

In truth I've seen a lot of people around, but normally if I approach someone I have nothing to do with it's someone that seems sad and needing someone to check on them. Happy content people don't need my attention. It's those people who have that sad look so many don't like that interest me in hopes that I could make it better, or somehow relate to them.

It' sobering to look at people we knew in their prime and then see them aged. There's a big difference in perception seeing them with such a gap in time versus seeing them frequently.
Some people age better than others is the simple fact!
What do you think your classmates thought of you when they saw you?

Back in school, I hoped some would die. Now, I pray they live a long life... and suffer!     "Most likely to be unsuccessful", huh. Now who's the biotch!

I had the interesting experience to go back to the place where I grew up and look up two old friends from high school. It was an interesting experience to say the least. I hesitate to tell you how long ago it was since I was in high school but it was more than one generation ago.

One of the guys I never would have recognized if I'd seen him in an airport. He'd gained some weight and his hair was all gray with a big beard. In high school he was a tall skinny redhead. Three marriages and four children had definitely changed him but underneath I could see the intellect that was there when he was young.

The other guy was much the same as he was in high school. Same sense of humor and same mannerisms. He'd been happily married for a long time and had 4 kids. Life hadn't aged him as much. He's still a car nut and still has his '72 Corvette that he bought new. He and his wife go cruising just like they did back then.

I was at the 50 and older room and nothing got my interest as it is dead in there..so I cheated and came here..To all the guys who are hair deprived, let there be sollice in the thought that men like me who are blessed with plenty of hair still have the same problems as you..(except the sunburn)
In the words of Homer Simpson ,women are ravenous blood sucking monsters who want more, more, more..His words not mine..
