I have more faith in our military than you do. I don't think the military will fire on us, but the police would for sure. I dont think the police force would be much of a challenge laugh laugh

Propaganda is a powerful tool. The government knows how to use it in a country full of sheepledrinker

the United States never officially declared war on anyone but the Japanese -- Germany declared war on the United States which, in turn, gave the Americans a cause to engage in the war in Europe.

you actually also declared war on Romania, Bulgaria & Hungary in 1942

Bush bashing. No, he's not perfect--a victim of perhaps bad judgement, emotion, revenge or bad advice. I do know that 9/11 brought this country to its knees. I watched it live on TV in the library of my school. This was no Indiana Jones movie; it was real--and I knew it. We have not been invaded by a foriegn country since 1812. I do know that there has not been one incident of terrorism in this country or Canada since then. You say "innocent victims?" What about the thousands who were busily working at their computers at the Towers before they were blown to bits. You should be glad that we had a President who responded appropriately to the situation. Had it been me, the arsnal of H-bombs would have obliterated the Mid East. End of argument. That would have taken down many innocents, but the terrorist with them. Don't kid yourself, it probably won't, but may, happen to any of us--in a bus, school, subway, tourist attraction. I'll vote McCain because I want to go to a grocery store and gripe about the price of eggs without fear.

but wait, i remember bush being told seconds after the first plane, then he still sat there reading to those kids, he didnt care that much to get up and do something about it then. im sorry to say, that guy was/is a moron. sorry if that offends anyone, but IMO

no kidding.thank God he had intelligent staffers.brains of a pea.

bad example to use

what would his get up and running out scaring the kids he was in front of gotten accomplished any faster

everyone is quick to point a finger but lets her what you would have done

This is a super easy one. As the president, if my aid had come into the room with me and the school children, leaned over and whispered into my ear: "Mr.President, The Nation is under attack." I would have stood up, interrupted the story, stating, "Children, I'm sorry, but it seems that I have some important Presidential work that has come up suddenly. I promise to return and read another story with you at a later date, but I have to go now."
Then I'd calmly set down my copy of My Pet Goat and walk the hell out of the classroom, once outside of the school then I'd run like hell to my car, get on my phone and order an immediate investigation, unlike Bush who stonewalled for almost 2 years to get anything investigated and then it was a politically bankrupt affair that involved Kissinger, Rove, Zelikow and destroyed evidence.
Then, when I found out 100% that it was Bin Laden, I would have sent my Special forces into Afghanistan with one order, Osama's head in a bag.

That didn't seem to difficult for me to armchair QB, I wonder why it was so hard for the "elite" to get anything done?

'Osama's head in a bag'. Good one.

The special forces could have used it for a little soccer practice before turning it over.

He did so he wouldn't cause a panic. Someone told him, he issued an order and he stayed there. Maybe he should have cause a panic and scared those kids for life, good call dude.

Whats funny is that you don't think they have agencies in place to handle this kind of thing. Sure the president is gonna give a speech about it, and decide politically some decisions, but I am pretty sure the CIA would have been all over this without a personal call from the president. .

When you sent in the special forces where would they have gone? Would you have equipped them? Would you have given them back up? Or would you have voted own all the military spending in the past used to do this?

Bill Clinton, when the WTC was bombed in Feb '93, opened up a criminal investigation.

I laugh at you.

Been going on since Bush v. Gore. Won't stop.

I wonder if we would have been better off with Gore. Think about that one lefties. What would he have done? After WTC was bombed in Feb '93, Bill Clinton, along with VP Al Gore, brought criminal charges. No other action was taken.

Only one person has had to make the decision. All the rest of us are rock throwers.

Glad this mentality wasn't around in Dec '41.

After the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor, can anyone tell me what country the U.S. invaded?

Can you explain me by wich strategic plan you align your WHOLE fleet in one harbor without even a patrol plane 100 miles out while a WORLD WAR is going on? Not a coast guard boat, a destroyer...nothing.

Why would you do that? Think about it.

Wow! Don't we pundits know it all. How did ya'all find out all of this stuff? Do you have sources that I don't know about? The truth is, we do not have privy to all that's going on. I don't think any of us really wants to know. So far, I think it's for the best 'cause I can still go shopping with out too much fear of terrorist intervention. CIA, go ahead, check my background, listen in on my phone conversations, break into my computer. You'll sit there and be dead from boredom within 15 min.

nevermind that little piece of paper called the constitution, right? That line of reaoning makes me sick, and is a prime example of why this country has gone to hell, and will cease to exist in the next 20 years

amazingly enough not a carrier, the backbone of the modern navy, was not to be found there huh? Thos ships sunk were disposable, they were outdated for modern warfare. The battleships days were over after WWI

Wow what a genius...trying to be funny mate? We're talking about pearl harbor a military base, during world war2

I'd say probably because they needed an excuse BADLY to enter the war, as usual the hell with lives and costitution and people...all hail our lord the dollar hm?

Nowadays they don't even look for an excuse, they fabricate one and openly deny it later..and you guys are even happy to support them even today.
they did a great training job I must say.
