If people would just say no to all this junk food and eat real food (that around perimeter of grocery store) and excercise daily...they wouldn't have no weight problem and would significantly lowere their risk of alot of diseases. Yes some things are hereditary...but, if you pack 50lbs ontop of that...you are just raising the risk. I deliberatly keep my weight down because Diabetes runs strong in my family...i mena REALLLLL strong!

That is SOOO not true, I was overweight for years due to medicine I was on, I do only eat fresh foods, (fromthe outside of the store) and I ran every day, and couldn't get the weight off, until I convinced my Dr it was the meds, went on other stuff and it came off...

So that statement is NOT true.

As a chunky man I thought I'd never get any attention, but it seems that a lot of the ladies like the "squishy and snuggly" kind of man.

Still, though... I'd like to lose it but being a truck driver makes it REALLY hard. I'm on my ass all day.

Some things are hereditary, diabeties, cancer, a multitude of heart disease...most of the time these things are inevitable to happen, I will probably end up with cancer and/or heart disease in my life...not much I can do about it.ohwell

Grocery stores are really hard to come by when your vehicle is 73 feet long and needs 40 feet to make a right turn. I know what you mean though. A lot of truck stops have a Subway, and that's pretty much my diet.

My family is Basque. You ever seen a skinny Basque? Ain't gonna happen.

The leading cause of death is heart disease in women. Much of that is preventable as being overweight creates the condition. I want a woman to live and give for as many years as she can. It's sad.

Wrong. The problem was actually that up until about 2 years ago, the first aid and cpr classes would only teach the most common signs of heart problems for MEN. It turns out, those are often the LEAST common symptoms for heart problems in women.

I'm also tired of people saying it is because women wouldn't complain. That women have too much to do to get it checked out. That is bull****e.

Women are far more likely to seek medical attention than men. I still think it does back to the fact that women didn't even know the signs for heart issues for women because the health industry couldn't be bothered to have the information as part of their classes until reciently.

Charm and humor are pretty much the only weapons in the fat guy dating arsenal. Let me tell you, at 250 pounds, I got a lot of charm and humor. Well, I can also lift heavy things, break fragile things, and stink up a bathroom at the in-laws place. Not to mention peeing in their pool...

Both my daughters dads are died and my girls take after their fathers. They are big, but confident, educated, beautiful, and have average size very good looking husbands.

Yes society does put alot of emphasis on weight. I am a women who knows. I have curves, but I am happy with who I am and that is what is important. I feel we should look past the outside and see whats in the inside that matters.

too much weight is a health issue since it has been proven that overweight people can suffer very serious consequences such as :
high blood pressure ,cholesterol ,diabetes ,some cancers .....
etc. So having a reasonable diet is beneficial for both the health and the physical appearance .  .

Steroids in general have weight side effects and they are used in many medicines and unless you read the small print you don't know the active ingredients. So it is possible to have weight issues if you are on medication. I know a lady that had very painful joints and was prescribed steroids and within a year she was well over 250 for a 5 ft 5er

i know this lady who is extremly obese, and i mean extremly obese, well over 20 stone. she has carried that weight all her life, and now due to the obesity she needs hip replacements, but no doctor, even private doctors WONT do it, because shes so obese it would be so dangerous.

id rather look after my body now, so i dont end up like that.

i gained weight on some meds, but i stopped taking them, and the weight fell off. im starting excerising a bit again, it varies day to day how much i can do, depending on my pain levels.
