Space, I actually have my Dad's old , think they are 78 records actually, of Morse code and some folders he gave to me. I was going to learn it but never did. Did you find it difficult?

Not really...I recorded some cassette tapes that a buddy of mine had in the police department....never picked it back up, though....it's not hard, but takes a lot of dedication and time....I'd love to do it again...I have my grandfathers old radio from the '50's! VERY old, but neat piece of equipment...it takes TUBES!

I guess no matter how you look at it,it's illegal activity..and the consequences are stiff (no pun intended)

2 Particular cases I've read about,1 involved a teacher that was romantically involved with a female student resulted in cries of "predator" "pedophile" and other such innuendos...and without a doubt was well deserved.The other case involved a 17 year old male student who was having an affair with one of his female teachers..the result?...."Whoo Hoo "The kid got laid"!!I believe that whether you're a male or female student you should always be treated as equals.The male student in this case should have had his case taken a little more seriously in the public eye.Yes,both teachers had their licenses revoked and were dealt with accordingly.

dealt with accordingly is how a person looks at it ,, i see sitting behind bars not strict enough ,, maybe if the prisons were more like a death camp i mite be satisfied ........

In the stories that I have followed,, alcohol abuse and some mental health issues seem to be major factors. In some cases it appears if the teacher is a hottie, she gets a lot less time.
When these stories first started showing up, ie Mary K Latourno(not sure on spelling)I thought 'Lucky dude" but time has shown the guys need professional help afterwards too. I can't imagine not only everyone at school finding out but having it plastered across the national news, internet too.

I totally agree. And that coming from a woman who dates 20 years younger than herself. But when it comes to under age, that's just messed up. On so many levels. It's stripping kids of their ability to relate to authority in a healthy manner as well.

Well,this seems to be a pretty one sided arguement. And while I agree, teachers shouldn't have sex with students (it's abusing a position of power), someone has to present a counter arguement or this thread will die. You'll be mad at me, but it'll give you something to vent about.

You know this whole concept of "18" adult is fairly new to human history. As little as 120 years ago it was considered proper to marry your 14 -15 year old daughter off to a man in his late 30's early 40's. It was generally done that way because a man (that made it) to that age was generally well propertied and you knew your child would be taken care of. Anyone of a female age that made it to 16-18 was considered a spinster.

Now I'm not saying this practice was right, I'm just saying that most things in the course of human history take a couple hundred years to get a foothold. Fortunately, we should all live to an age where this practice is no longer done.

It's not much of a counter agruement, but hey, I don't believe in this side of the arguement either. Just playing devil's advocate.

People believe that because they are fools. Generally it is men who believe that because it sparks their fantacies when they were young high school boys. It's sick either way if you ask me!
