that spin about Iran and wow they finaly admit.OOOOPS.........a sharp reversal of its longstanding accusations against Iran arming militants in Iraq , the US military has made an unprecedented albeit quiet confession: the weapons they had recently found in Iraq were not made in Iran at all.

According to a report by the LA Times correspondent Tina Susman in Baghdad: “A plan to show some alleged Iranian-supplied explosives to journalists last week in Karbala and then destroy them was canceled after the United States realized none of them was from Iran. A U.S. military spokesman attributed the confusion to a misunderstanding that emerged after an Iraqi Army general in Karbala erroneously reported the items were of Iranian origin. When U.S. explosives experts went to investigate, they discovered they were not Iranian after all.”

The US , which until two weeks ago had never provided any proof for its allegations, finally handed over its “evidence” of the Iranian origin of these weapons to the Iraqi government. Last week, an Iraqi delegation to Iran presented the US “evidence” to Iranian officials. According to Al-Abadi, a parliament member from the ruling United Iraqi Alliance who was on the delegation, the Iranian officials totally refuted “training, financing and arming” militant groups in Iraq . Consequently the Iraqi government announced that there is no hard evidence against Iran.

Did you also know that some of the " generals " including Bin Laudin, or however you spell it, was actually trained by this goverment and some have also used US made weapons to fight against our brothers and sisters in the armed forces. When i was in the Army I actually got assigned to the tradoc and had to help both of those countrys on drivin our tanks. right here in the good ol' US. This war started back when Clinton was in office. Now Bush is takin all the crap for it.

Iran used to be part of the US empire. When the Shah was out of country the ayatollahs organized a take over and took Americans hostage. Carter was President then, and they did have American arms including aircraft. We immediately discontinued supplying them with spare parts and stuff. However, during the Iraq-Iran war the US/ Reagan supported both sides to ensure there was no winner. He wanted Saddam to capture all the oil fields, but not all of Iran.

Currently the Iranians manufacture their own weapons, including tanks, fighter aircraft, and smart weapon technologies. They are not helpless and the pentagon estimate 10,000 American deaths within the first month of fighting if we invade.

The AK is the most widely produced and least expensive assault rifle in the world. China's being the most common version, and shipped via N Korea everywhere.
It can withstand a lot of abuse, but is not nearly as accurate as the M-16. You dont expect the US to give everyone access to our best weapons do you?
Espeacially in the ME. We only give those to Israel!!

Do they still teach y'all to be as proficient with an AK as you are with the M-16?

We used to have to qualify with it!!

Iran shows off new fighter jet
Sep 20, 2007

TEHRAN (AFP) — Iran unveiled on Thursday a new home-grown fighter jet amid growing tensions with the United States, saying the plane could "blind the eyes" of its enemies.

State television showed pictures of two "Saegheh" (Thunder) fighters -- said by Iran to be similar to the American F-18 -- taking off in tandem and then landing for a ceremony at Tehran's Mehrabad airport.

"This fighter plane has been researched, designed and built with indigenous means and this new generation of fighter plane is entering industrial production," Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
