Well look im thinki bout learnin laws and what not and becomin a advocate for Gays and Lezbians as well as for any religion other then Christain....it say that we have the right to a Peacable protest....how bout all of us get together and have an old fasion sit-in? Whos with me? I am Christian and I am for gays and lesbians having rights. But I think everyone has the right to their own beliefs. Imposing your own on to others is wrong. |

I think that tolerance should be taught, but a need to basis, and I believe that a parent should have some control over what a kid is taught. Like with sex ed, a parent should have to sign something refusing to let the kid take the class. Religion is so divided on the subject so that is probably why it comes up. Personally bullying should be stopped, but a cousin of mine (who is gay) was laughing because he got a kid expelled because the kid ignored him. "It was bullying," said the principal and that I found to be wrong. I grew up in Northampton,MA, which anyone who Googles it will find out that it has a LARGE gay and lesbian population. The case of religion is always brought up because MOST religions frown upon homosexuality. In regards to bullying, it happens both ways, and unfortunately the gay person will always win because he is a minority. A gay person wins because he is a minority? Correction: The gay teenage population has a very high suicide rate. If I am not mistaken, it has the highest suicide rate of all populations. Is that winning?  |

I think the greatest problem with gay rights is that most people still believe homosexuality is a behavioral choice. Until people realize that homosexuality is like heterosexuality (you are born that way) the debate about rights and priviledges for gays will continue as will discrimination. |
