Wow I don't think that I have ever heard such a straight to the point,
amazing "rant" in my life. You my friend, WILL finish first and it will
come all in good time. And from all of us girls that have been hurt,
abused, and put thru hell thank you for the most heart felt apology we
will ever here from someone that didn't even do us wrong.

wonderful job Chef, in both "rants". Some of the other young gentlemen
(?) could well take a lesson from you. Shows a lot of backbone.

Thank you for this wonderful post. I won't say what has happened to me
to make me the way I am when it comes to the opposite sex. I just try to
not let it get the best of me and continue hoping that my special
someone is still out there, and that every guy who comes along is not
like the ones I've seen before. We need more men like you James!
As far as flowers go...I would prefer a blue lily

Thank you to all the "real" people who replied and those who proved that
some men have to be spay(ed). For those of us who really do care, well
it is harder for us to find someone than those who don't 'cause we
usualy don't settle for 2 feet and a heart beat, we look for the real
thing, genuine and true. All of you be true to yourself and one day we
may finish first.

Chef1000,
The old school romance is something women are not used to anymore… a
lot of guys use it to sleep with a woman then leave( I know it from
experience)… so that is why there is no trust. Just by what you wrote,
you sound like one of those true gentlemen. I know there are some of us
who do go for those dogs… but then there are some of us… like me who
would definitely prefer a real guy… I am one of the lucky ones to have
found one of those rare creatures… when I met my boyfriend… I was
seriously weirded out… to be honest… cause im not used to a guy opening
a door for me, or even paying for dinner for that matter… but he did,
and I loved it after I thought about it, and gave him another few
chances, and now he has my heart, he found all the broken pieces and put
them back together. And the flower thing, he found my best friend and
surprised me with a dozen of my favorite flowers for Christmas… they
were gorgeous… he doesn’t use the words hott or sexy, he says beautiful
in the dark...lol.... you and him are definitely a rare breed. Thank
you for showing me that there are more than one, cause I really hope my
best friend can find someone as great. Theres my rave about guys like
the two of you. good luck in life and love, i hope the best for you

First of all, do you know how very difficult it is to read text without
paragraph delineations?

But I digress...

Old school is great, IF it's sincere. All too often I've found it's
put-on and pretentious and "dramatic" and far too "wolf in sheep's
clothing" for me. I'd rather a guy come out and show his true colors as
a cad than have some guy try to "dupe" me into thinking he's really a
romantic, "good guy" who is chivalrous and well-intended when he's
really just the opposite of that.

And even those guys who are, I do appreciate it, but I don't like guys
who lay on the chivalry a bit too thickly. A little goes a very, very
long way.

I loved your rant! It seems like the last couple guys I met wanted to
act like we were an established couple before we got out the door good
on the first date! Incidentally, there was no second date.
