Ladies which do you consider or envision yourself to be more of - a housewife, or career oriented? And guys which do you prefer?

I'm old-fashioned and going with housewife.

I wouldn't know what to do with my spare time if I had a career woman. It'd be pretty quiet with me and the cats waiting for her to come home so we can pounce on her. devil

You could get a job too.

anyone that thinks a house wife is not a career should try it some time

True but should I chose to pursue this career I would have to do it while living on the streets and begging for food.
Last I checked, no one issues paychecks for this "career". So I want to feed and shelter my family, I am best served by a career that includes an actual paycheck.

their are not too many jobs that last long like the old days. who has worked for the same co for over 5 years?

Not 5...but just hit my 4 year mark on May 4th drinker
16 years here, and only hated it for the last 4

Job? grumble Set an alarm to wake up before my body wants to? grumble ! Pretend I actually like and respect a manager? grumble grumble grumble It's been about 8 years since I've had a job, and I like it that way. I do have 1 employee, however. It never talks back to me, never calls in sick, unless I break it, and never comes to work with a hangover and never makes up some excuse not to work on friday. It's made of metal, and does exactly what I tell it to, even when it's the wrong thing to do. laugh laugh laugh The exact opposite of a woman, it's computer controlled and I build every piece of it except for the bearings. It's a better employee than I will ever be! laugh laugh

<=- ducks

My next employee will be taking orders from it, literally, so I can go back to playing. And you thought your boss was an a$$ laugh laugh

I have never figured out how to make money without working. And I have never lived for free anywhere.

So. Work is not optional for most of us.

I'd rather be a housewife, but I don't have that option.

Fresno. My condolences.

Even as a housewife I have always worked from home to bring in money. I definitely have old fashioned values to a point.

What nobody can explain to me is how single "housewives" are supposed to be supporting themselves and their families. Can some of you "old fashioned" guys explain this to me? Are you looking for a welfare mother?

Why do we have to choose, why should we choose.

Most importantly who cares what the guys prefer and does that influence your choices?

I've been both. Put husband thru school, worked for a long time after, and then was a house wife. I liked it all!

If I ever find a guy that'll stick around awhile..I'd have to be a housewife..since I can't work a 9-5 type of thing.

Well that's the thing.

I keep asking these "old fashioned guys" how they expect the women of their dreams to put food on the table as housewives and they are not telling me.
