On that note, I'm gonna put on my shades, light a cig, and ride around So Cal with my windows down, and DARE the old lady beside me to cough.

This is supposed to be the home of the free. Now a lot of people are getting on others for their smoking, not wearing seat belts. What happened to the constitution? I ran into a lady the other day from Russia in the store, did not know her from Adam, but I can be friends with anybody. She was tellig me, she moved here 10 years ago, before the seat belt kick, before the smoking ban, before the DUI's got severe, she was saying that the Russia compared to the USA has twice the fredom. And I believe her. Do you non-smokers know how much tax money is generated from sales of cigerattes and booze, go ahead, play around and stop all that, and pay out your rear and work for nothing in life except to pay taxes. If you people who don't smoke don't wanna be around me when I have a cigarette in my hand, don't let the door hit you on the ass on your way out, hell, I'll even hold it open for you to get out. I won't give up my right as an American to live the way I want to. I went to nam in 1972, and fought for all Americans, so don't anyone tell me I am not for this country, thats trying its damndest to push me out.
i asked if you think about it?i didn't get on anyone for smoking

seriously, who wants to get old anyway? That's one thing I can do with out, bedpans and being takin care of like a infant, If I found out I had cancer, I wouldnt get treatments, I would enjoy myself, then die.
Believe it or not, we are all going to anyway.

My uncle drowned in '98. No more swimming, boating, showering, drinking, being transported on slave ships or taking medication with water for me.

George Burns smoked every day and lived to be 100. Hell, I don't want to live that long.

I'm not talking about 2nd hand smoke I refering to the person smoking

I do appreciate your concern. But we all do things that put us at risk of dreaded conditions. I think it was in the 80's, there was a man who became about the first widely famous jogger, sorry I can't remember the name, but I will always remember that he died at a very early age, 40's or 50's, of a heart attack...jogging. We never think it's going to be us.
Smoking is a nasty habit, one that is very very hard to break. I know, I tried many times.

This may be one of the first threads that needs to be moved from here into the General category.

My dad died of lung and stomach cancer. I was 10.
My mom died of breast cancer. The double masectomy she had 10 years earlier wasn't sufficient. I was 20.

Smoking sucks for those left behind let me tell you.

I'm sorry for your loss. Cancer sucks for those who are left behind! There are many causes. It's all bad!
