I just learned a few hours ago that my 14 year old niece had sex with her boyfriend. The sad part is I don't think they were in love, but rather did it cause that's what the world teaches.
 If they are in love.  if they did it for discovery. Call me old fashioned.

Always was for teaching the use of condoms...inevitably would have happened, hell not a lot of people do it for love anymore. Sorry to hear this.

If the dude she was caught... er... with is over the age of consent (18 in some states, 21 in others), then said dimwit is guilty of statutory rape and should be dealt with properly.
My cousin's just-turned-eighteen daughter got knocked up by her tattooed-up d-bag of a boyfriend not too long ago. Even worse is the fact she wants to KEEP the kid too, DESPITE the fact she hasn't even gotten herself a half-way decent job to be able to afford the kid with. So- unless said tattooed d-bag decides to get respectable and get a job to support her and the kid-to-be with- their lives will have been gone to waste before they even got out of the gate. |

I don't agree with it, but no one does it "for love" when they're that old. In fact, most people don't do it for love at all. Really, are you doing it because you're attracted to them or are you waiting to love them first? Sure she was too young, but kids are going to make that mistake. Especially when we promote it.

not a lot of people do it for love anymore - that's the sad part I'm old fashioned too - haven't been in a real loving relationship in a long time; and although I've had many chances, haven't done that since the relationship ended... I know how you feel, Derrek - I think it's that loss of innocense that hurts the most.

I do kind of have a problem with this. My son just turned 17, has a girlfriend who is 14. They are not having sex, we talk about it and they are waiting. However...here's the thing..if they do have sex and it is consensual (?SP)...and she's right there with him and agreeing to it...if her parents find out and decide to go after my son, no matter what she said he'd be prosecuted. He'd end up on the sex offender list for life. Right next to the rapist and child molesters. Somehow that does not seem right. Does it?? |

My first time was with a random stranger just because everyone was doing it. My second time was with a guy I was dating for a few weeks, the third time, I got pregnant. 2 weeks after my 18th birthday my son was born. Hell be 14 this summer and I just do all I can to keep him safe and make him realize what a huge decision and responsibility sex is.
