I just got into an argument with a neighbor cause his seventeen year old daughter started screaming at my kids, cause they walked too close to their car. I walked outside and told her calmly but firmly that she was not to yell at my kids or give them orders, and started to explain why, when her father came out, getting in my face and screaming as loud as he could about me telling his daughter what to do and what not.
I finally threw up my hands and tld him fine, we'll discuss it later when we can be more calm (meaning when he could of course), walked inside to apologize to the neighbors and say I would be back another time, got my kids and their stuff and walked home.

What do you think?

I think you handled it appropriately. Discuss it later when he is more calm.

I can help you here. First, you're gonna need some duct tape, a screw driver, super glue and a lawyer.

Let me know when you're ready and I'll instruct you from there.

One day my I opened my car door and it ACCIDENTALLY hit the car next to me. This lady came out of the store. She appeared to be drunk and screamed that I had rammed my car door into hers. She insisted even though I tried to explain that it was an accident. Some people are just crazy when it comes to their cars.

The nieghbors daughter will be eighteen this summer, and she overstepped her bounds. I simply told her not to talk to my kids that way, and her father blew up. I did not even raise my voice the entire time. Now, if she was twelve then yes I can agree to talk with her father first, but not when she is going to be eighteen in just a month or two. Now, if I had yeleld at her or screamed at her, then yes it would be a different matter.

oh and yes the kids have been reminded not to go too close to parked cars. They are now grounded to their own yard for the rest of the day to emphasize that point.

pepperoni on the car hood during the heat of summer. Or maybe some homemade thermite with a magnesium fuse to eat right through the engine block. Two possible solutions to that problem.

A couple sardines under the seat works well too.

Don't get me wrong, the other father is a good guy, and I have no problems with him prior to this, but he can be hotheaded at times. I an understand his being upset if he thought I was yellig and screaming at his duaghter (even though she IS 17), yet I wasnt doing anything of the sort. Yes I did outright order her to not talk to my chjildren that way, and to come to me if there was a problem, but I did so without yelling or screaming, or trying to pick a fight. I simply informed her that she was not to talk to my children in such a way.

ther is a differance between saying something, and screaming at the kid or ordering the kid around.
I saw my kids, they were simply walking between two cars, and she started ordering them around and yelling at them as if she were their mother. And in my book that is a big no no. An adult ever did that to my kids and I would seriosuly consider knocking them on their arse, as they have absolutely NO right to order my kids around or yell at them in the first place, unless I have granted them that right.

And considering I was within ten or fifteen feet of her when she started doing so? nuh uh. Wrong answer. You come to me.

Humm well maybe that was her first reaction. I mean unless you were standing right there. There is no telling what they could have been up to for kids will be kids. Sometimes when one is startled their first reaction was to scream out to get them away from the car. Honest they should not have been no where near it.

But at times unless you have had one damaged that way it is hard to understand.

No she is one of those people who thinks she knows everything and is hence the queen of everything. I have had to tell ehr not to order me around before (with her fatehr standing right there), and that if she can not keep a respectful tone and attitude the ndon't talk to me.
