Topic: Phoenix Rises

The fire consumes me Flames licking at my feet Skin charring becoming blackened Hair singeing Becoming a raging inferno Burning wildly out of control Acrid scent of burning flesh fills the air Eyes wide open watching As every part of my being is consumed by flame My voice cries out Not of pain But of release The fire burns through me Smoldering now As I slowly become ash Nothing of my being remains The wind softly blows Stirring the ashes A cry fills the night air The ashes begin to move Becoming feet, legs Hands, arms, body Face, ears, eyes Wings appear Fiery red melded with soft yellow Melded with burnt orange And I rise now into the air Phoenix taking flight
