You might want to poll the ladies on here, but honestly, I think most of the guys on this site do that. I wonder what they are looking for? a quick hit. Lots of women too, nothing wrong with that. I find a little hypocryte complaning about that on a dating site...visual stimulation is the first step of attraction. What a sad world you live in. I'm much more stimulated by intelligence. And why you need 17 pics then? I don't see your phd or diploma in any of them..just skin like all of us. not trying to insult you or anything of that sort, but let's be adult ? at least she took the time to write an essay. Do you think people come on here only to hook up sexually? Apparently not. Most people are looking for perfection and are hard to satisfy if not impossible. Some people just can't seem to find anyone "good enough" for them. Other people are too afraid to form a relationship. If people just wanted to hook up sexually, it would make things so simple. I switch up my pics, real me sometimes and the other ones others, it gets boring looking at the same pic all the time. I would think a man would like to read my profile a bit before mailing me anyway so he can view the real pics then. I have that picture there because after 9,000 posts you get tired of looking at your own face and you assume everyone else does too. I am looking for someone who can be my friend, inspire me, challenge me mentally, make me laugh, make me want to be a better person...sex comes after all that. What you are describing goes beyond appearance. If someone is really dying to know what I look like, my profile has my pic. If he feels it is too much trouble to look at my profile then he would never measure up intellectually for me anyway. |

And the biggest point is, I learn the most about people from these forums - how they interact with others, how consistent their stories are from one post to another, what their facility with the language is, what their interests are, even some of their history.
You don't get any of that from a picture. |

It is also true that the mind is the sexiest thing about a person. If there is nothing upstairs... duh... the attraction dies quickly. I am really puzzled why anyone would not put their picture in their profile. You are basically selling yourself if you are looking for a mate or even just a date. Don't work against yourself.
