when you are not a parent, yet your nephew (who is a teenager) calls you, adn ask you about sex?
I'm trying the most honest I can.
Hopefully, I'm guiding my nephew the right way.

id let his parents know as well that he came to you about... and tell them to respect that he came to you not them and not to be upset... but then that way too they parents can have some input or whatever in the issue

I took my 17 year old to family planning and introduced him to all the staff. they showed him the entire facility and what options were available to him and his girlfriend. I dont approve if him having sex, but i know he will any way and i want him to be safe about it... hope that helps

Right. That is why we educate them about these things, because we cannot stop them from having sex.

against everything i believe. i have to say u r right.
telling a kid not to do something, is like to telling him/her. go ahead and do it.
so they need to be informed to the detail about things, so they make an educated decision

Exactly. Telling them to just wait for marriage is tantamount to sticking your head in the sand.

you could not be any more true than this. The only thing I woul dadd, is get pics and photos of different diseases (if you ave gonohrea for example, you can agree to have photos taken for educational purposes), and SHOW your teen what can happen if they are unsafe.
My parents did a simiolar thing for me when I played with fire as a kid. The fire chief showed me pics of people who had been burned, even ones of those that did not survive, and I can tell you it had a tremendous affect on me.
And for thse who would say the teen is too young to see pics like these? They are old enough to be choosing to have sex (wether we agree with it or not), then they are old enough to be fully informed.

Is his dad not in the picture or are they not close enough for him to bring this up to him?
