in miami, there is a holocaust memorial, a close friend of mine took me there because he wanted to show me part of his family's past.within less than a minute i cried the entire time.it was a disgusting irreparable tragedy

I visited a couple different camps while I was stationed in Germany back in 1994 and 5. Right bout the same time that "schindlers List" debuted in theatres, and I can tell you I have not ever had a more sobering experience in my life.

What everyone faced back then was not just one of the most atrocious events of history, it was also the most demaning and degrading event to ever happen in my mind.

My friend just sent me a email, of photographs taken of the bodies of the victums of the holocaust, thses photos were taken by the orders of General Dwight Eisenhower, in order that no one could turn round and say the holocaust never happened, the UK has just banned the teachings of the holocaust to our children because it may offend the Muslims in our country who say it never happened...im very angry about this, anyone else have opinions on this

Debbie,
Do not worry. We(you and I) will see The Lord come again in glory and will be taken up into heaven before satan (never in capital letters) takes over this earth for 1,000yrs. I do not understand what the Moslems/Muslims have to do with this. They are the followers of Cain, son of Adam and, Essau, bastard son of Abraham.
I personally know former American soldiers who fought in WWII who liberated the Nazi Concentration Camps at the end of the War.
It has been said that when the people who were witnesses of The Holocast are gone, the end of the world, as we know it will come. I say, "come, Lord Jesus, Come."
My ex's Uncles both liberated the concentration camps and will never forget the sight. The local German villagers were forced to pick up and bury the dead. The US Army believed that the villagers could not possibly Not know of these autraostophies. Peace. I lived in W. Germany for 3 yrs and learned a lot about their history. Peace.

I have no opinion on the holocaust... .... why does history mingle in our everyday lives... we should just learn from it and look forward.... otherwise we will be living a dreaded life

Yes, the world, rather than believe these atrocities happened, put on their blinders and nose plugs. This was witnessed by international soldiers. My uncles said they vomited and the smell of burnt flesh will always be with them. It was too horrible to believe that people would do these things to fellow human beings. History is the truth of the world and the human race. Keep your blind folds on. To ignore is stating it never happened. All should be aware, that it never happens again.

If you think the Holocaust cannot happen again you are sadly mistaken. Slaughters of greater and lesser magnitude have already taken place since WW II and they continue to this day. Here are a few examples:

Russia: over 30 million murdered in purges.
Uganda: Hundreds of thousands murdered.
Cambodia: Over 3 million murdered.
China: Untold millions murdered.
Iraq: Hundreds of thousands murdered.
Dufar: Hundreds of thousands murdered.

And in most cases the rest of the world has stood idly by wringing their hands, looking the other way and doing nothing.

Great evil can only exist in this world where "good people" allow it to exist by their indifference.

When they came for me, there was no one left to speak up for me.

As one person said, when we stand before Jesus and He asks, "where are your wounds?", if we reply that we don't have any, He will ask, "was there nothing worth fighting for?"

Something to think about. You can either sit in the grandstands and watch life go by, or you can get in the game. I prefer to be a player, not a spectator.

When I was a little girl living in Miami Beach, Fl. my grandmother lived in an apartment complex where many jews lived, most where my grandmother's friends, what I remember most about them were the numbers tattooed on their forearms. My grandmother's father and brother died in concentration camps...
those who claim the holocaust never happened are trying to hide away a horrible fact of humanity and what people are capable of doing to one another. To ignore our past is to open the door to repeating it again:

Genocide Watch was founded by Gregory Stanton. The Watch organization is the founder and chair of the International Campaign to End Genocide, initiated in The Hague in May 1999. On their webpage in 2006, Genocide Watch explains the ICEG this way:
1.5 million Armenians. 3 million Ukrainians. 6 million Jews. 250,000 Gypsies. 6 million Slavs. 25 million Russians. 25 million Chinese. 1 million Ibos. 1.5 million Bengalis. 200,000 Guatemalans. 1.7 million Cambodians, 500,000 Indonesians. 200,000 East Timorese. 250,000 Burundians. 500,000 Ugandans. 2 million Sudanese. 800,000 Rwandans. 2 million North Koreans. 10,000 Kosovars. Genocides and other mass murders killed more people in the twentieth century than all the wars combined.

“Never again” has turned into “Again and again.”

So in your opinion the holocaust was bad,but in earlier threads you commented that the cyclone that took 10,000 lives was good and there should have been more. What a value system.

You are exposed for what you are. Now everyone knows or perhaps knew already. How is that for big words? You think you are so intelligent and most are beneath you. Your arrogant and change your answers to cover your previous rantings.

Id say Im pretty congruent in my thoughts and actions..my posts reflect that and stand on their own without needing any defence. I am very intelligent (although not the best speller) and see no reason why I should pretend other wise or pander to simple minded "home-grown" boys like you.
Why you have chosen to single me out is an amusing minute or two of speculation on my part. I think you missed my first post suggesting you get a life...I strongly urge you to reconsider my advice.

I call it like I see it. You try to change the subject when called out on it. Just remember I see you for what you are. Now I shall leave this thread of my own choosing. Stay and rant and beat your chest and say something witty. I strongly urge you too! lol

I WORKED WITH AN OLE BOY THAT WAS in WW2 the big one. he was on a patrol that found a railroad boxcar on a siding. When they opened the door it was half full of bodies. they followed the tracks to a camp... cant remember which one. The guards had fled about two weeks before this he said. There were people so starving that when they tried to feed them some rations they died. most were living he said, but almost none survived, they were too far gone.

wow i gotta say that the uk banning teaching about the holocaust in schools is APPALLING, here i thought most of the fascists were in the usa
where middle/ highschoolers do learn about the holocaust

I mean im aware that prior to nazi germany exterminating "undesirables" they tried 2 send them to the uk and chamberlain (may his name be spat upon down through history) refused them sanctuary, but i had been under the impression that they had progressed socially in much the same manner as us since then, i guess notsick
