My son turned 13 months today. He recently a few weeks ago started pulling him self up on things. the thing i am concerned with is his crawling and walking. toddlers around his age are getting around pretty good for their age, i know i shouldnt compare my child with other peoples children. i just want to know since he is not crawling or walking yet, if there is anything i should be concerned about?

You definitely can't compare 2 kids (even twins), but you should be able to recognize if there are limited or restricted motor skills. I'd say give it a bit more time, and don't worry. Before you know it, you won't be able to keep up with him :-)

One of my kids walked without crawling too much.

I would talk with your doctor just to make sure.

at around 12 months should be able to:sit without support#pull self to standing #craw#imitate are movemements such as shaking a rattle or crumpling paper#pick things up with thumb and finger# transfer things from one hand to the other#track objects with their eyes#feed self crackers3smile spontaneously#is shy with strangers# look at pepole who talk with them#respond to simple directions accompanied by gestures such as come, give or get# from 12 to 24 months #walk alone#walk backwards#Begin to run#

Every child is different, even the "standards" they give are not right on.. My oldest son walked without ever crawling ..

My daughters all walked without supoort at 10 months old..

I wouldnt worry but if your concerned(obviously you are) call your doc, im sure theyll put your mind at easeflowerforyou

each child develops individually so dont worry, he will do it when hes ready, work in childcare hun..and one of the key things they say is dont assume all children are the same

My son did not crawl until the day after he turned one. He did not walk until he was 17 months old. He is almost seven now and he is extremly active and healthy. His motor skills are fantastic, and he rides his scooter fanatically, plays basketball, t-ball, and is constantly outside playing. I recall the doctor being concerned that he did not "skip" at the right time. I said okay.... why would I teach him to skip? laugh

My son is healthy, and I'm sure your child will be just fine. Milestones are guidelines, not set in stone. (as they imply)

All children grown at their own pace, so long as the doctors haven't mentioned anything, I'd say relax and enjoy it. Once he starts walking is when you will start running, after him
