The priest of my parish said this yesterday in the mass' homily, and I wanted to share this with those with an open heart:

Native Americans had the custom, when a child wants to become an adult, to make the child to pass through a test. The test consists in making the child spend the night in the deepest section of the jungle, forest, or swamp. The point the child had to spend the night alone away from home if he came back he was consider an adult.
In one ocassion (I imagine this happened several times) a kid spent the whole night alone and scared in the darkness when was really close to sunrise the boy heard noises in some bushes close to him. He went to see what was it, and he found out it was his father who had been there all night close to his son to protect him.

The priest made an analogy relating this custom with our relationship with God. So many times we feel so alone in the darkest moments of our lifes, and we fail in recognizing that our Father is always there protecting us, loving us, and blessing us.

Therefore, I pray:

Dear Daddy from heaven, grant me the blessing of being able to feel your loving presence around me at every time in my life even in the darkest night. Daddy don't you ever allow me to fail in recognizing you as my loving Father. And please, please always hold me like a mother hold her little baby because after all dear God you are Father and a Mother at the same time.

Amen.

Miguel,

I bought a picture to hang in my living room, it has the following words written on it. I’m thinking they are in Spanish. Just wondering if you can translate this into English for me. I have a good idea of what it says, but I'd like to hear your translation. Thanks.

Prequnté a Jeśus,
¿Guánto me amas?
El me contestó:
“Mucho”
Entonces extendió
Sus brazos y
epiró.

(This is precisely as it appears on the picture, complete with the upside down questionmark and all the other punctuation)

I feel the same way about this story. We might feel alone in our most tiring time in our life, but we need to be reassured that God is always with us.

I asked Jesus:
How much do you love me?
He answered:
"A lot."
Then He opened his arms and expired.

How ever you wrote: "epiro" i'm guessing u meant: "expiro"
with the accent marks ofcourse

James, i need to add something.
The word "expired" in this case means "died" because it refers to a person.

If I feel alone, I turn to the Bible for inspiration. Read a few Psalms. They can work wonders.
