You guys know who Miley Cyrus is right?..Billy Ray Cyrus' daughter and The Hannah Montana star?..She's 15yrs old and posed in Vanity Fair with just a bed sheet half way covering her up..When I saw that picture I wanted to scream..the girl is so skinny her spine looks like its gonna pop out of her back at any second..I can't believe Billy Ray let her do that..If she was my kid I woulda smacked her!..What kinda message is that sending out to the children who watch her..um.."Don't Eat but it's cool to get naked for anybody that asks you to"?noway

“I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be ‘artistic’ and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed,” she said in a statement.

“I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologise to my fans who I care so deeply about.”

The Disney Channel, which airs Hannah Montana, criticised Vanity Fair.

“Unfortunately, as the article suggests, a situation was created to deliberately manipulate a 15-year-old in order to sell magazines,” the network said.

Vanity Fair defended the photos to TV show Entertainment Tonight.

“Miley’s parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.”

Miley Cyrus is widely considered a wholesome role model for young girls.

But this is her respose..

Yep, I think you are right. I was in Sears yesterday with my daughter who is very impressive and that had her playing on all the big screen TVs. Even with two layers of clothes on - she had like a long sweater thing over denim - she is still skinny. And I don't follow this stuff or watch TV so had no clue what her age was, but 15 that is just too young to be parading around nude.

I don't think the Vanity Fair pics are bad at all .... look at this pic from the shoot http://www.vanityfair.com/images/culture/2008/06/cusl01_miley0806.jpg . Doesn't seem very sexual .

I've seen the other pics floating around the net and some of them are obviously not her and others are really not that risque anyway ... she's 15 and posting a pic on your myspace of yourself in a bikini or your underwear isn't that scandolous . Considering the underwear I saw looked like little boys underwear and didn't show any more than a swimsuit .

I do not get it.

She knows what VF is all about and has seen previous covers and lay outs. She knew the look they are trying to achieve and all that jazz.

She was there at the photo shoot why didn't she speak up against posing in those fashions and what not if she felt embarrassed?
She has the right to say no and say what pictures they can and can not use.

Although I think the one with her father and her is simply beautiful. He he.

I think it is all because Disney is having an issue about it and she wants to save her butt with them because Disney is what got her so well known and to become a billionaire!

grumble Just my thought anyhow.

She's one of the best role models for the tweeen and pre-teen girls. I hope they don't see how skinny she is because she doesn't look skinny on her show.

my daughter LOVES her, it scares me more than a lil. I also have no respect for her. She doubles the price of her movies and concerts... KNOWING she's just ripping off the parents of her fans. I can't afford to buy tickets for my daughter. She even had a 3-D concert in the theaters... it was posted at all the doors $20.00 no discounts. Her merchandise prices are ridiculous. ohwell

noway I'm sure she as a 15year old girl isn't pricing her merchandise or shows . Blame Disney for that .
My sister is a fan and we have had no problem plastering her room and wardrobe with Hannah Montana gear .... they sale her stuff at the Dollar Stores .
