So I was listeng to the radio the other day and the song "Boys and Girls". The chorus goes:

Girls Don't Like Boys,
Girls Like Cars And Money
Boys Will Laugh At Girls When They're Not Funny

So, at the risk of opening up something that I might not be able to handle.........

What do you all think? Is it true? It is a load of crap?

So not true, of the last several men I have gone out on dates with 1 had no job, and 2 of them had no cars. Generalization on anything usually proves to be incorrect

I believe this only mainly happens to the younger Generation ....Hence Girls...they don't know what they really want!!!

from what i can see women want love, someone to share their hopes & dreams, someone to share their lives...someone to listen to & be there for them, not to solve their problems....a hand to support a hand, a love to make it worth the effort...

It's true, women want security and stability ("cars and money"). They don't want to take care of someone, they want to SHARE with someone. They want someone who can take car of themself. They don't want to date or marry a child ("boys") so to speak.

As for the last part, IDK... but it makes a good hook.

Id have to agree with the premise of the lyric. I dont know exactly if you can categorically prescribe the precise demand of "cars" and "money", however, since women are gold diggers, they are ALWAYS looking for something of financial value out of a male. This doesnt neccessarily have any defined value or does it neccessarily have to be an exact object. However it is rare that women will ever be attracted to some combination of qualities that have no dollar value.

I also agree with the third verse in the lyric, in a general sense. Men will often go completely out of their way to get laid, the more attractive the woman, the more completely out of their way they will go. Laughing at jokes that arent funny is a simple representation of a bigger picture that often cost men large sums of cash and participating in other actions which they would normally never do.

Well not sure what town your in. my town women, hot women are with men who have no money or a pot to p in .
when I was young I did not care about who smart she was just how hot she was now it as to be smart and good looking .

Some women will substitute perceived status as an equivalent exchange for cash value. Often this manifest itself in the forms of drug dealers, jobless biker guys, ex convicts/current convicts, or overly masculine anti social alpha males. This is generally common amongst women who either have a very low self esteem, or havent quite moved from "girlhood", and women frequently take in to their thirties to grow up. All women will eventually be looking for financial value though, it just depends on how long it takes them.

My dad use to tell me all there looking for is a meal ticket. Kind of a hard way to look at it. But I rather find me a meal ticket joke.

Great responses. I agree with most of them. I don't think that I am as cynical as the lyrics. Although, I do have my days.

I was posting to see what kind of a response I would get. Different sites attract different people. The people that post here have, for the most part, been very thoughtful. I love bouncing ideas off of people. It can create some great discussions and I usually learn something in the process.
