A man heckling First Lady Laura Bush and daughter Jenna outside the 92nd Street Y was arrested after he punched a wheelchair-bound girl whose parents has told him to shut up, authorities said yesterday. German Talis, 22, was shouting obscenities at the Bushes, who were leaving the building Tuesday, when he crossed paths with Wendy and John Lovetro and their daughter Maureen, 18, who has cerebral palsy.
They had been in the audience to hear the Bushes talk about their children's book, "Read All About It." "He began yelling about Iraq and Iran at Jenna Bush. She was waving at the crowd. I told the guy, 'What are you doing? Shut up. This is about a child and books,' " said John Lovetro. "He was unperturbed. I said, 'Get out of here! You're being a moron!' " The next thing he knew, Talis was allegedly punching Maureen - a fan of the first lady since meeting her in 2004. "I heard my daughter hysterical yelling, 'He's hitting me!' " said Wendy Lovetro. "He punched her on the shoulder blades, but that wasn't enough," she said. "My husband pushed the wheelchair away from him and he reached beyond my husband and began pounding my daughter in the thigh." The two men fought as the president's family drove off. Cops broke them up and busted Talis on charges of assault and resisting arrest. Maureen was not seriously injured. http://www.nypost.com/seven/04232008/news/regionalnews/police__bush_basher_smashes_disabled_tee_107782.htm |

It's the "in" thing to hate the President. No matter who you hurt in the process. Tolerance from the left is a joke.

Liberals only support their own freedom of speech, everyone else must lsten to them! Sad. It's amazing to see their true colors coming out.

The man in this story showed a Christian reserve that is to be applauded. This is the type of action that Jesus himself modeled for all of us. My hat is off to this man. I'm not so sure if I could have had that kind of composure.

this world is going to hell in a hand basket when a book promotion turns violent and a child ends up being hurt.

this world is going to hell in a hand basket when a book promotion turns violent and a child ends up being hurt. and thats really what this story is about. A deeply disturbed man and his violent tendencys totally out of control. I doubt it would have mattered who was in the White House to set this guy off. Tolerance doesnt enter into it, you're using this sad example to stir up the already huge division that exists between the right and left...shame on you. |

Do not preach tolerance, then resort to violence when it is not needed. The left constantly portrays us as violent, yet we should jsut sit back and take it, correct? ummm, yeah, if you really are pacifists...but since the neocon-Right provides fuel for the fire, why pretend otherwise? Dont be hypocrites if you believe the sword is mightier than the pen, then live by that and dont cry when others chastize you for it.. |

"And he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one." -- Luke 22.36 "The pen is mightier than the sword, only if the sword is kept sharp, and the man that writes with the pen is willing and able to fight with the sword!" -- Don Cross "The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental." -- John Steinbeck "Tis true that the pen is mightier than the sword, but far more have died for want of a sword than will die for lack of a pen." -- Curtis Mohr |

Lindyy says:
I heard this on FOX. How in the name of God anyone could not like First Lady Laura Bush is beyond comprehension. She is so much a lady, a woman of wisdom, intelligence to be admired, the epitomy of womanhood. And, Jenna is the sweetist young woman, loving and caring, following in her mother's footsteps of loving and caring for children. The USA has truly been blessed by having Laura Bush as First Lady. To me, the greatest First Lady the USA will ever see. Lindyy |

WTF? If someone dislikes bush, than protest peacefully. Don't punch people in wheel chairs cause the wife of bush is promoting a book.
its people like that, that make liberals look bad. |

Listen, you Americans, Laura Bush wants you to know the President is suffering over Iraq. In fact, Laura told Anne Curry on the Today Show, that the American people need to know that "no one suffers more than their President and I do." No one? She's as delusional as her husband. Of course, her husband is the person who caused the suffering -- and is the one person who can end it.
I would wager that there are 3,300 families in America that are suffering more than George Bush. And, there are tens of thousands of injured soldiers who are literally suffering. well it is over 4000 now ...............http://www.americablog.com/2007/04/laura-bush-wants-you-to-know-that-when.html |

Laura Bush: Iraq is mostly stable, it's just that "one bombing a day that discourages everyone" Attacks against coalition forces in Iraq averaged nearly 180 a day in January, the highest level since major combat operations ended and more than double the rate one year ago, according to intelligence officials. Lt. Gen. Michael Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday said the attacks matched the previous high, set in October 2006. Attacks on civilians also reached a new high, with almost 50 per day in January, according to the agency. Attacks on Iraqi Security Forces remained consistent with recent months, at about 30 a day. http://www.americablog.com/search/label/Laura%20Bush |

Madman:
Deal with. First Lady Laura Bush is one fantastic woman. Why you have to put everyone down is totally beyond the scope of rational reasoning. Lindyy |
