When I felt strongly enough for someone else that I didn't care to talk to anyone else. I wouldn't want to hurt the person I cared for.

Coming from a person who's come here from a less-than-admirable experience at another dating site, I'd say that an online argument with an obvious flake with her idiot friends with a penchant for calling me a "terrorist" would just about do it.
That's not the ONLY thing that'd do it, though. |

If I was dating exclusively I'd boldly put that in my profile, but keep the friends.

Thanks for the answers. I deactivated because the woman I met was very jealous. I didn't want this place to ever become an issue.
This place is great but if I weigh the two then the site would be the one that goes even if it meant losing my online friends. BTW, I have some great friends here. I know they'd understand my decision and would be here if I ever returned. Come to think of it. I did and they did.

Sorry when they start dictating you with whom you can talk to and it only be friends you have a problem. Regardless whom or if I date someone I will still remain on this site been here for almost 2 years now and have made a lot of friends. If they can't deal with having friends over the internet what the heck are they going to be like in real life shshshshshh

been here for just over a year maybe longer.. i cant even remember any more..
the people here have become like a second family to me.. so it wouldnt be a matter of my mate or my friends it would be my mate or my family and my family always comes first in my mind.. if they are to jealouse to have me talkin to my family here then they are to jealouse to be my mate |

I personally see the online dating scene as for entertainment purposes, unless evidence suggests otherwise. If nothing else, bantering back and forth about this and that fills the void invention #4 occupies while it's making invention #5. As for long term, I'm thinking naturally I wont have near the time here as I do now should I decide to lower my IQ and fall in love/lust with someone.

I just don't get that. Do we cease all contact with the outside world once we pair up? In that case, I am definitely staying single. No wonder so many relationships fail. |

I met my match/girlfriend on this site in the matchmaker thread and we still chat on here often. We made good "online" friends here so why stop. We know we have each other and are not looking for others, it is all about trust!
