Suspiria and the ORIGINAL Wicker Man are two of my favorites.

92% for Suspiria on the tomato-meter.

90% on the tomato-meter for 70s Wicker Man.

Suspiria is a great Italian horror movie, and it's the creepiest movie I've ever seen. Wicker Man is something very unique. Not only does it work as a horror movie, but it's widely considered to be one of the greatest British films ever made. The remake has nothing on the original. It's soulless and silly: The climax involves Nicolas Cage running around in a bear costume, punching out women.

OK, I'll be the nerd who goes for obscurity. The original Dutch verson of "The Vanishing" (I think it's "Spoorloos" or something like that), is truly frightening. Didn't scare me while I was watching it, but afterward I woke up in the middle of the night realizing frown that could really happen.

Suspiria (1977) Excellent Italian horror flick
Eraserhead (1977)- David Lynch's original mind-****
Black Christmas (1974)-Classic Canadian low-budget horror flick. Used to give me nightmares as a kid
Dead End (2003)- Surprised this went straight to DVD, very well made and has a great atmosphere
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)-Though the remake was pretty good too.
The Shining (1980)-REDRUM!

I Love horror films:heart:

theres a good french movie called "Them" about a wife and husband being stalked thru an old mansion by "things". Theres no gore, no nudity, but straight up suspense for an hour and a half. ^.^
