i'm culturally disabled of something like that because there are somethings i just don't understand.
For instance, the concept of popularity, being cool or nerd, and the several social subdivisions in schools.
At the beginning i just thought those were just things that Hollywood was trying to sale (Mean Girls), but with what happen in Lakeland, Fl (less than 100 miles from where i live) with these girls beating the hell out of that other girl.
I have come to think that maybe all those cliches are true.
However, what i fail to understand how all these social status are established:
is it like kids in school get together in the first year of high school and decide which role is going to play each one?
or is it like Darwin's natural selection - the survival of the fittest?
I mean maybe it's because i never was exposed to that environment. my entire school life at home was in catholic school for boys, but as far as i remember in one classroom we were all one thing. No social subdivisions at all. And we had everything kids extremely rich and the sons of the maids who work in the very same houses of those rich kids, and everybody was exactly the same.
And there was something that needed to be fixed by the fist, well a fight was arranged with certain pre-understood rules that nobody talked about, but everybody knew.
Like the fight could not last more that 5 minutes, just bare fist nothing else, and at the end both guys had to shake hands, and that was it.
However, I saw this video and these girls were just trying to brutally harm that other girl.
SO then again I really don't understand how things work anymore

It certainly doesn't help when movies endorse this type of behaviour, either. On the one hand, in Mean Girls, the heroine prevails, yet on the other hand, it sends an explicit message that the type of behaviour is usual and frequent and somehow fun.

Kids are mean, mister. They were mean when I went to school and they are mean now.

If you did not go to public school then you'll most likely never understand. Wish I could offer more...
