I hope nobody starts quoting the bible here. The book or movie that explains it is "The Lord of the Flies" not the proper forum, my friend If you read the book, you'd know that it is an analogy to the situation you mentioned and you might have a bit more of an understanding.

Darwin...jocks go with jocks, cheers with cheers, geeks with geeks, and then the guy that sits in the corner. I was friends with someone from all of the above groups, does that make me culturally flexible?

Kids are mean, mister. They were mean when I went to school and they are mean now. If you did not go to public school then you'll most likely never understand. Wish I could offer more... My Catholic school was full of kids who could be very mean. Most of them were good people, but I think sometimes it's easier to just follow along then to say what's right and be excluded or ridiculed.
