I believe in God and read the bible, but don't participate in organized religion.


Many of the fictional stories out there were at least partly inspired by religious teachings. I guess it's all connected in some way since it was all written by man. Inspired by who or what is the question, but taking shots at other forms of literature, even those in modern media form, still won't validate your views.

personally, I'm sick of being attacked because I happen to not believe one almighty being that always was, and always will be, created the heaven and earth. A bunch of people wrote the scriptures in the bible because God talked to them and told them what to say. If anyone said that this day and age... they would be commited. You're all knowing, all mighty, all loving God consistantly punished people thru out the bible for a variety of reasons. And anything you can't prove, you just have to have faith. Almost all of the christian holidays were taken right from the Pagans and then the christians turned around and did a witch hunt for anyone that didn't believe as they did. I could go on but I think I made my point.

you make a very good point. I always looked at it like "playing telephone" in school. Where one kid starts at one end of the class and whispers to the next kid, so on and so forth... by the time you get to the last kid, what was originally said was completly lost so u mean to tell me after all those years, different languages and BIASES, the bible can be taken literally... word for word??
