Grandpa!Grandpa!where have you gone?
You've left me and gone away,
My heart is broken and torn
My tears won't fade away.

You always were my idol
And always were my star,
Happiness gleamed upon your face
And shone on me afar.

You always were unselfish
You would give your shirt away,
For whom that was in true need
Or lend shelter for his stay.

Encouragement you would always give
When I was hurt or down,
If I would lose my faith or hope
You could turn me right around.

You always were my sunshine
When I was in despair,
When others would ignore me
You would give a wink and care.

You always told me stories
Before I took my nap,
And when I would awaken
You sat me on your lap.

You always were a wise man
You're stories old and true,
I told him,I want to be like you
He nodded as if he knew.

His patience had no boundaries
His wisdom would amaze me,
He wished me things,he couldn't see
But no time left for this to be.

For now I am a young man
I am in the service now,
His guiding hands aren't with me now
Yet always there somehow.

My Grandpa!has gone to heaven
Such sorrow fills my heart,
I never will forget you Grandpa!
I love you with all my heart.

Awww Cybear miss my grandpa thanks for sharing this.

I just wanted to say.... I loved this, actually made me cry. I just lost
my father(my best friend) this past April, and That poem so fits my
oldest son and his "Grandfather" Thanks for writing and posting.

replies,for here lies my most deepest and precious words ever
spoken to my Grandfather.This poem always was and will always
be the most treasured words and to serve as my final testament.
It is my belief that he was one of the sweetest men to ever grace
this Earth,and will be sadly missed all the days of my life.I will
never forget your kind and gentle replies((((hugs)))Cybear.
