a friend of mine from high school lost her brother in a really bad car wreck...

when they went to view the body, it was difficult to tell who it was, but when they went to the funeral, the mortician made the bruises disappear

he looked as tho he was only sleeping, she was very moved by that, and became one herself, just so she could help people get over their loss

one thing about anyone's profession, you never really know how many lives you touch on a daily basis...so take pride in what ya do

good luck

In the funeral home that I worked in years ago, the embalmer and the makeup artist were two different people, each with a specialty. Our makeup artist was amazingly proficient and you'd be amazed at the range of facial prosthetics that she had at her disposal. She almost always worked from a photo that was requested from the family but was also adept at winging it if one wasn't available.
