I know...it's hopeless, right?

I'm 38, rather shy, and spent 19 years married raising kids. I never expected to ever be doing this again and have no clue how or where to meet people, how to interact with them after I do, or how relationships work these days. I am becoming convinced I'm too old and ugly to even think I'll ever even find anyone to spend time with...let alone anything more. Beyond giving up and becoming the crazy old cat woman, is there any hope? If not, please honestly just say so. Thank you.

How can you honestly say that women just get old? I think you need to re-examine your life and be glad that you are alive! Good Lord, instead of sitting at home and making people think you are the crazy cat woman..do something about it!! Start talking in the threads and post a darn picture. hon, you are 38? Try being 47 and starting over after a 26 year marriage. Sure its scary, but give it time and go easy on your self.

Sweetheart, I think it's sad that you feel 38 is old. I'm 38 and sure as hell not old! I've been out of touch for 15 years in a relationship now, and sure it's scary, but give yourself some time to catch up...things are different now, but not THAT much! Apparently my Mother is unaware of that rule. She is in her 70's.. and I remember when she was just turning 50 ~ She said that her 40's were thus far, back then.. the best decade of her life.

Little did she know.. She would still be riding that wave today.
