Does God believe lies? In other words, can you lie to God?

Does God know things which will never happen? In other words, does God know that you will fight an ogre today?

The point is, that if something is never going to happen, God doesn't know it. So we exist, because if we didn't God wouldn't know what we would do if we did exist.

God is outside of the universe, therefore, God is outside of time as we know it. For God, our lives have already been lived. But if we hadn't been given the opportunity to live, God wouldn't know anything about our lives.

Once you grasp this concept, the Bible makes a lot more sense.

I cannot fathom the notion of anything existing outside of time because...

The ability to distinguish different events in time, necessitates different events in time to exist necessarily so...

If 'God' exists outside of time, there is no past, no present, and no future, it is all happening simultaneuously, therefore, there is no ability to distinguish between...

Instantaneuos existence does not have the ability to exist.

More problematic also is the fact that the Bible references time frames throughout... with 'God' in it... in time... not outside of it...

So I fail to understand the substantiation of the claim that 'God' exists outside of time.

God is outside of time as we know it.

I have heard it preposed that God exists in a different timestream than our own. Ours being finite and tied to our universe and God's timestream being tied directly to God, thus infinite. While we float slowly in one direction through time, God moves in any direction. Pardon the analogy, but we are like jelly fish, floating where the currents take us. God is a fish moving where he chooses. PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THE ANALOGY WILL BREAK IF YOU TRY TO TAKE IT FURTHER THAN I ALREADY HAVE. NO ANALOGY IS PERFECT, I'M JUST TRYING TO CONVEY A SINGLE POINT.

Yes, God is infinite......and also dwells in Infinity or Eternity ...which is a dimension outside of time..but God ALSO exists IN time..with us here ..right here on earth.
He left his Holy Spirit with us..the Great Comforter...remember?

So therefore, even though God is ALSO infinite and is also in Eternity.....God ALSO ALSO ALSO is EVER EVER EVER PRESENT with US.....HERE IN TIME....ALWAYSflowerforyou

God said, I will NEVER Leave you not FORSAKE you.

God said I am an EVER Present Help in a Time of Need.

God said I am WITH you always.

So...that Means ..........

God MOST DEFINITELY is RIGHT HERE..AMONG US STILL.. Thru His Holy Spirit...........flowerforyou

But...

Although God has left us His Holy Spirit....the Great Comforter...
God's Holy Spirit can ONLY Move thru His Body of Believers.....those who have INVITED Him in !!

In other words....God, thru His Holy Spirit, doesn't automatically move in on a person's life.....unless that person INVITES Him IN.

God...even in ALL His Magesty and Might...still will NOT come into a person's life thru His Holy Spirit , unless ASKED...otherwise, God would be making illegal entry!!!!!

So people are wondering why so much hell on earth?
God is WAITING for Man to ASK HIM In....so He can have legal entrance into man's life....... to COME in and MOVE on man's behalf.....but again....man has to ask!!

The Holy Spirit cannot move automatically and accomplish a thing automatically on this earth....it needs a body to dwell in...first..in order to do a work on this earth...in our behalf.

THEN... thru the Power of the Holy Spirit NOW INDWELLING US...Who Have ASKED HIM IN... God NOW is able to MOVE in a person's life.

Just think...if everyone asked Jesus in.. the Power of the Holy Spirit would move so mightily upon this earth..that the work on earth would be done overnight.drinker

But you know...God is just waiting on us folks....
God 's just waiting on us.....flowerforyou

Afterall...a 1000 years is just as one day unto the Lord.
Cause Yes..God ALSO dwells in Eternity.flowerforyou

Abra,
just something to consider...

try to imagine that God is reading 6 billion plus hearts and minds simultaneously.

Imagine that not all recognize that God would influence each intention and decision we make with care, nor will all recognize such influence as being from God.

Try to imagine that God would intervene into the thought process for good, not evil, yet leave the choice dictating the course of the future up ot each individual.

Then try to imagine why things are what they are.

I actually liked that analogy. It rests well within me when considering the plausibility of movement within a time frame.

the Bible says that GOD knows everything from beginning to end.
So when he created us he knew we were going to sin and that he was going to punish us. So why have created us in the first place??

a God wouldn't created anything more perfect than itself because it would no longer be the God it creation would become the God

and a God that create lesser than itself creates imperfection and a perfect God would be incapable of that ...therefore it is not a God

a perfect God would only accend and not decend and therefore would make no creations... perfect or imperfect

God made man in His image..to fellowship with God.

God also made the fields of grain, the cattle, the birds of the field, the earth ...the whole universe in all its vastness.

Does that mean God "stepped down" and made less than perfection?
BeCause ALL his Creation isn't HIM, the Creator?

An artist paints a masterpiece on a canvas.

Now...Does it mean, that simply because the artist and the masterpiece are not one and the same..that the artist created less than a masterpiece?flowerforyou

the artist merely creates a copy of a reality but not the actually reality because the artist is incapable of performing that feat... which means the painting is nothing more than an imperfect painting because the artist is imperfect

if the artist was perfect the artist wouldn't have a need to paint

Who gets to determine what is perfect and imperfect. The definition of the word is based on personal observation. Perhaps the artist perfectly depicted his view on the canvas, thereby creating his view of perfection. It could be a "deformity" in the eyes of other; however, that very "deformity" may indeed be perfection to him or another viewer.

Just a thought......

oh in that case..have an artist paint a million dollar bill on a canvas and take that canvas to the bank and try to cash it

It is because you still don't understand the nature of time. Time is not a thing that you can exist inside of. Time is not a universe. Everything exists NOW. Now is all time. Eternity is in this present moment.

Time is relative to bodies moving within an enclosed space or universe. Time is relative to the speed of light.

In truth, light is just light. It has no speed. It only appears to have speed in relation to bodies in a space-time environment.

An intelligent being could not create something that It is confined within and subject to. Each living unit of awareness has their own perception of time and their own field that surrounds them. Each sentient being perceives time differently.

Time changes as bodies get too close to a black hole. Time changes with every different universe. Time is relative and Dependant on the movement of bodies within a space universe.

Both Time and space are an illusion, just as you experience time and space when you dream. When you wake up the space and the time that you experienced in your dream are gone. The don't exist. They never existed. They are perceptions of the mind when you dream and they are perceptions of the mind in this reality also. They lie within the "mind of God." They are perceptions, illusions, like a dream. They are within the universal mind, like a dream.

JB, honestly... all I can do is sit in amazement and wonder...

We all have our own reasoning for that which we perceive...

I understand that. Pondering infinity, the number zero, the non-existence of NOthing, the non-existence of time and space has had me existing in what most people call "La La Land" most of my life.

The best way I personally understand it is to compare this reality to the reality I find in my dreams. When I wake up, it no longer exists. People tell me it never did exist.... they tell me it was "just a dream."

So I think I will wake up some day and find that this reality is also "just a dream."

Last night I climbed a mountain in my sleep.
It stood before me wondrous and steep.
And at the top I opened up a flask,
And drank some wine to celebrate the task.

My two companions shared the victory.
We viewed the world before us, as far as we could see.
The wind, the birds, the sky, the lakes below.
We might have stayed, but we had to go.

Then something plucked me from the mountain top.
I watched it disappear, I could not stop.
I awoke, still with the smell of lake and air.
I could not find the mountain anywhere.

With the memory still within my waking brain,
My friends, I yearn to see them both again.
Now I walk across the prairie, flat and bare,
I think of my companions, the mountain, lakes and air.

These are the illusions, that are not really here.
The dreams that fade, the friends that disappear.
I love this vast and open land, with snake and fowl and stone.
I wait for God to pluck me up and take me to my home.
