i'll quit smoking when the fat people in America stop eating. They will probably die from heart disease before i die from lung cancer. I went to war for freedom in this country and i am going back in June so I have Every right to use it.Don't like it oh well. Suck it up and drive on. I am serving my time for my rights. No one will tell me otherwise.

its only common-****ing-sense the you don't inflicted poison on
another person well-being to satisfy some nauseating self indulgent need to feed a some stupid addiction....

Is that what you are tired of?
wow, your mature argument is certain to change the minds of people, and keep things calm in this debate. Grow up

Dude, don't be hater and jump on me, I was simply asking HIM if this is what HE was talking about. It's OK bro relax...

I smoke too, but their choice is theres, and really doesnt afect your sense, and make you smell, etc. there is a huge diference between the two in a social setting. If you are that disgusted by them you can look away. They cant just look away from your smoke. BTW, I am a smoker too, but it is a choice I made, and not one for me to push off on others

Smoke all you want. But don't complain when there are just as many non smoking establishments as not. Some of us like to enjoy the flavor of our meal. Or get a drink with friends without having to shower as soon as we get home from the bar. Don't worry though, there is always outside.

But that's the problem, there aren't ANY smoking establishments.

There are here. Only recently have a few places popped up that are strictly no smoking.

works both ways, if you are around people who don't like the smoke, go outside.

OR, how about people who don't like the smoke quit going to places that allow smoking? Let them go to their own precious purified air spot.

Shouldn't be a matter for the government IMO. Should be up to the owner of the establishment. If the owner of the establishment doesn't want smoking that would be their right. And vice versa. You can choose whether or not you want to work/frequent there as a result.

we are a republic, majority rules brother. The maority of people here do not smoke, and it is something that is not essential, but a choice. I really don't see that you have an argument for places that serve food. bars are another story. Places that children frequent SHOULD be off limits for smokers

not quite rob

majority rules is a democracy
----
A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.
Thomas Jefferson

-----
in a republic those elected to make choices are supposed to protect the rights of all not just the majority

does the civil rights movement ring a bell

they can move from a falling object or get out of the way of a moving car. it something really concerns your health u can get away from it. bottom line is people complain too much. I don't force my smoke on anyone. hell i don't even smoke in my own house b/c i have a child, but i won't go out of my way to not smoke around a grown-up.

suppose that I decide that I do not want to be around african americans when I eat, or women, or asians, or anything else I should decide not to want to be around? Should the law cater to my opinion? Seems to me that it has been ruled by the courts that I cannot be allowed to make that decision for myself. Do not smokers/non-smokers deserve the same protection? Remember, your freedoms end when they tromp upon the freedoms of others. JMAO

ok, but when the health of others are potentially affected by the actions of another it becomes more of an individual rights issue, barring contitutionally guarded rights. There is no constitutionally guarantee of smokers rights. it is the responsibility of those smoking to ensure they do not create distress among those who do not
