Rose I can't find anything either, except a few claims that his movies were racist & he gave speeches that were. I read the speeches & I don't see it.

Amazing, may he rest in something that looks and feels like peace but not without a few punches thrown his way before making the journey. There is a time and there is a place to judge a man's life. None of us are immune to the want to reflect and sometimes that reflection brings up some critical points. But Heston wasn't a bad guy. Yeah, he was pro NRA and he was by all accounts conservative in his thoughts but the man isn't dead 24 hours and already there are hack-attempts to try to make him look bad. And then when someone is asked to provide examples of that they disappear. Nice, really!

Likewise, I'm sure.

I'm sure I made no impression on him, as I never met him. Even if I had, people like that with such limited views don't take kindly to people like me, who can prove them wrong.

You wouldn't march for Civil Rights?? Mr. Heston did. Or does people who believe in Civil Rights have limited views?

Even bad people can do good things.

There is something called respect for the dead. We all live and make enemies, but death is the great equalizer. It's sad that you are so filled with anger towards a man you didn't know that you can't just keep your mouth shut. You don't even have to say anything nice, just be quiet. There is no reason to mock, insult or talk about your disdain for a dead man. Do you have no decency? No humanity? Your evil gods have stolen your heart and soul and left you with nothing.

1st thing I saw when I turned on my computer! He was the greatest leading man ever! Planet of the Apes, The Greatest Show on Earth, The Ten Commandments. Some of the best movies ever & of course... BEN HUR!

'Get your hands off me, you damn dirty ape!'

-Charlton Heston line in 'Planet of the Apes'.

Even those who did not care for his politics would have to agree with that.

I thought he was a great actor.
