Topic: Emailing someone

I have done searches and found some interesting profiles. I have emailed a couple of them. I say, "Hi, how are you your profile came up in my search. Would you like to chat? But I do not get replies. What should I say when I email them? So I don't sound like a dork. I wish I knew what to tell you. I have NEVER gotten a reply here when I e-mailed someone first. After I was here for awhile, and had established myself in the forums, people started e-mailing me. Now I get tons of mail here. But I won't mail anybody first anymore. As I like to say, if I wanted to be ignored, I could have stayed married. That is for sure! Yeah I probably won't be emailing first any more either.

Sometimes I send e-mails to guys that said or did something interesting in the forums, or whatever. I think many of them don't reply because they are afraid that I will think they are interested in dating me, even though I was just being friendly. They don't want to lead me on, and they don't know how to make sure I understand they just want friendship without hurting my feelings. So they ignore me. And I think, you twit, I wasn't trying to date you. Sigh. You mean you weren't trying to date me when you first sent me e-mails? nah. I wanted to marry you right from the start.

as Lex said, establish yourself in the forums first.......good luck I am all over in the forums. I even have rate my profile too I even taken advice and redid my profile a cpl times. I think I like it now. Except I might put the pic of me n my boys back on as main pic You need more than 90 posts to become established.

Yeah you would think people come on a site like this to chat and maybe meet. I have found that not to me true..... Maybe its me but I rather think its them Exactly! I email everyone back to acknowledge I got their email. I am honest if I am not interested. Well the two emails I have gotten. 50yr something men. Duh! hello can't u read...ages 38-40 Yeah it is them not us.

Yeah you would think people come on a site like this to chat and maybe meet. I have found that not to me true..... Maybe its me but I rather think its them Ron, if it's you, it's me too. I write back to everybody, just because it seems like the civilized thing to do, but some of these people need to delete their accounts and go sign up with "Just Leave Me Alone" -- the dating/socializing site for people who simply don't want to be bothered.

Bland, impersonal e-mails aren't really enticing to me. It makes it appear as though they did not read my profile and I have no idea why they are writing. I couldn't agree more, at least skim the profile and mention something about it. "I liked yur pic", doesn't get anyone's interest up. And yeah, Lilith, you don't have a clue why they're writing...please!

If you email ppl who live on the other side of the planet whom you will never have a chance of meeting, they will respond. JSH has a hidden rule about ppl who live close enough to meet are forbidden from communicating with you. The punishment for violating this rule is that you get triple birthdays every year from then on.
