I have thought about this a lot. My theory is that the homeless, the people on the streets, those we ignore... are the underground faction that kills and provides the demand of these expensive coats...but only to eat them. They don't even realize that the fur is more valuable. They toss out the pelts from gutters and sewers and alleys and then, all the sudden strolls and oppurtunist, you know the type. He sees the fur and because his mom can sew...next thing you know Nastasia has a mink stole

So your saying homeless people are not smart enough to know a animal from a sewer is not clean and would eat it anyway? They have never had a better life than the one they live on the street now..

Agree with you Miksit. I don't believe in the slaughtering of animals just for their fur either.

My brother said they killed the minks by breaking their necks before they skinned them.

I grew up on a farm and we raised rabbits for food at one time. My dad would butcher them and he hit them in the head with a club to kill them. There were a couple of rabbits that obviously weren't dead and they woke up during the skinning process and started to scream. It was beyond awful. Never want to see that again.

I don't think there is anything at all wrong with killing an animal for food, then using the fur after, not just killing an animal so I can look pretty.

You know rite now it is seal hunting season. Grrrrr. I really wish sometimes that these poor animals had guns so they can fight back. Its just not a sport killing an animal like a seal who has absolutely no way to fight back, if caught on land they can't even hope to outrun a human.
