thanx y'all but yahoo boggs my system...now what???
boat anchor time??? |
|
|

Hummm when u download yahoo IM watch closely do not let it download all
the extras that it will automatic and it will not bogg down your system but first make sure you have all the old yahoo deleted from your system even go to search sometimes it picks up file that were not deleted the first time if you only download what is needed for the IM only it will not bogg down other wise it downloads a whole bunch of stuff you don't even need. But have to click to chose what to download. |

michael1313 is windows live messenger the only time you have that
problem? I like windows live yahoo tries desperately to shove that damn yahoo toolbar down your throat. Maybe you need to reinstall it or try doing a repair through add and remove programs if that doesn't work try contacting msn tech support they may have an answer for you. |

I use both windows live messenger as well as yahoo here. I never have an
issue with my IP address do to those programs. However I also use my own email web host as well. It could be a firewall (either software or hardware) setting you need to allow the traffic to pass. Next time that you get that error go to start menu click on run type in cmd hit enter, A DOS window will open type in IPCONFIG /release then hit enter then tpe in IPCONFIG / renew then hit enter this should assign you a new IP address on your network. try getting your mail again if that doesnt work then it is most likely either the firewall built into windows sp2 or the firewall built into your router unless you have a third party firewall as well. |

windows firewall was interfierring with my antivirus firewall,so I shut one of them down... clearing my history helped too!! thanx Y'all!!! |

Good Kevin and you? I didn't mean to mess up your answer so I emailed M,
I didn't want him to loose any of your input. I was backing you up ! |

No problem mike anytime. I did network administration for about 10-12
years commercially and at home. I also have been doing web design and development the past few years pretty intensively. When I saw the quality of your responses I thought you deserved a better response then that so I just told you how I would deal with it. Roses: I saw that but you know I am very familiar with pc issues from my past history. I am sure you emailing him was a good thing as based on his previous responses he may not have solved the issue. |
