Revolutionary Road

Amazing movie, great cast.

Very intense, stayed seated until the theatre was empty.

The kind of movie I like, when you can't get up immediately after the end. And leaves you thinking/wondering for days.

exactly, learning is the whole point. to learn we have to be willing to make mistakes. what's important is to feel that you've learned and accomplished something, because if you feel the need to trade/be someone else then probably that someone needs to take to take a good look inside and she what feels good and what is it you want for yourself

in a way life is "all in our heads", but somehow, all that's outside also counts, also leaves a mark, and in a way shapes our lives.

there are numerous cases of people with what you described as "pieces cut out of the brain" that after a period of adaptation, react to stimulus from the outside world, which in a way is something that helps them "reconnect".

so probably a mix, but our brain is definitely the mainframe :)

"Someone falls to pieces, sleeping all alone
Someone kills the pain, spinning in the silence
To finally drift away

Someone gets excited
In a chapel yard and catches a bouquet
Another lays a dozen, white roses on a grave

Yeah and to be yourself is all that you can do
Hey, to be yourself is all that you can do

Someone finds salvation in everyone, another only pain
Someone tries to hide himself, down inside himself he prays
Someone swears his true love until the end of time
Another runs away, separate or united, healthy or insane

Even when you've paid enough
Been pulled apart or been held up
Every single memory of the good or bad
Faces of luck

Don't lose any sleep tonight
I'm sure everything will end up alright
You may win or lose

To be yourself is all that you can
Be yourself is all that you can do"

Making mistakes or having regrets is a part of life, it's how we learn to do the right thing. If we tried to be someone else or different everytime we would end up in a vicious circle of mistakes and regrets.

Our uniqueness is what makes us special :)
