Homo Sapiens did NOT evolve from apes or monkeys! Homo sapiens and the apes have a common species ancestor; and, going further back in time, that common ancestor has a common ancestor with the monkeys. In fact, on the tree of life, Homo sapiens closest living relatives are the bats!
