My daughter and I have donated our hair every year for almost 10 yrs now.

For her senior class project, she got 45 girls in the school to grow their hair long and then donate as well.


That's incredibly sweet! You have a great daughter :)

I heard they wont take old gray hair like mine ha ha

I think I read on the website that they take any hair... young kids aren't the only ones who need the wigs. Besides, a lot of people like the silver fox look :)

I'm glad to hear so many other people have helped as well.. I'm not used to having my hair so short. I only barely had enough hair to donate, just over 10 inches. But I can grow mine back, a lot of poor kids out there can't so I hope it helps somebody, even just a little bit.

Congrats on your act of selflessness! I've done that too in the past and even got to meet the girl that received my hair for her wig after radiation.
