So, Tim, it looks like the 'puter still isn't right? I prefer a big screw driver and a ball peen hammer myself. 
Give yourself 2 good hours. Do a complete format C: first. Then after you get it back on line, it will take about an hour to reaquire all of the updates.

Sometimes you make me really laugh and then I get strange looks from anyone sitting close to me.
I don't recall EVER saying anything that would make you laugh. Must have been Betty, she's so damn silly I can hardly carry on a conversation with her.

Bill I tryed to reload XP and half way through it says I have a file missing. VIAAGP1.SYS any idea what it goes to? It's a video driver for your motherboard. When you get the message, does it give you a "browse" option to find it? Have it look in the c:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder It wasn't in the WINDOWS directory? Are you doing a clean install or just installing over the existing program? Do you have the original disk from the motherboard? If not, download here: www.filewatcher.com/m/viaagp1.sys.27904.0.0.html and save it to disk. Thats because your virus program sees ALL system files as malware. It's safe. That should work. |
