excerpted from "cathartic musings"; 08/13

The sunshine in my world surely dies
Carried away for hedonistic pleasures one can’t deny.
Leaves me shrivelled and bleak on my lonesome to abide by.
No good reason but pedant labour as for why!
Apparent only now, your love was a lie,
Happiness absent; lust conquers trust and entire futures ascend as pie in the sky.
Now proverbial Prince Charming beckons and Princess Sunshine is all awry.


Idyllic lovers lack those furrowed brows or tears to sigh,
Carried away for hedonistic pleasures that she won’t deny.
Every good-book ever written, thousands of words of scorn to try;
Advise of hollow victories these wanton joys belie.
Fleeting glimpses of bliss I had esteemed so high
Yet,” not good enough” my Princess Sunshine does reply!
Wallowing through her guilt and fears she can’t untie.


Pretense of a magic kingdom, with not a sight, sound, smell or taste she can’t buy
Carried away for hedonistic pleasures no gods can deny.
Valhalla, nirvana, heaven, and paradise must exist her motto does decry;
Ridiculous to be required to work to build this, those scoffs imply!
Nearer to the moon and stars, she’s sure perfection is in good supply.
Nurturing my Princess Sunshine is a skill to defy
Negate all concept of give or take, moving speedily forward whereby:


With all open sadness and good wishes cheered; until another bright day I must apply
To my Princess Sunshine... a teary “Goodbye”.
Carried away for hedonistic pleasures I tried in vain to comply!
Sitting grounded and alone the sunshine dies while I cry.
