Apple Pie

1/3 to 2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of salt
8 medium sized apples (a medium apple = about 1 cup)
2 tablespoons margarine
2 pie crusts

Directions:

Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Peel, core, and slice the apples.
Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in apples. Pour into pastry-lined pie plate. Dot with margarine. Cover with top crust and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top.

Bake 40-50 minutes or until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble thru the slits in the crust.

I looked up my screen name I use to see what was still on the web about me and I found this that I wrote in 2003.

--> I don't post very often. Between work and school and raising my dogs and keeping up with my friends I don't have a lot of time to answer messages or even write them. I had a long conversation last night with my night staff about the"blackout" and how it related to prophesies in the Bible. The conversation turned to morale issues and how Christians should be walking and talking and living in our time.

Both of us have been in various churches and have seen the steady decline in what is morally permissible. Anyone can see a morale decline in the lives of the people of our nation between now and 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago.

The contrast I want to focus on is as the world steadily declines in behavior and permissibility shouldn't the church and individual Christians shine brighter? Unfortunately there is a clear pattern of decline in many accounts in the old testament showing that as the nations declined in morality so did it's religious leaders. Priests and leaders succumbed to the perversion that went on around them arguably maybe to a lesser degree but it wass till wrong in God's eyes.

Our moral acceptability has been our weakness as a nation that allows expression of self and freedom in almost any form. We allow ourselves to let so much gunk come into our lives that it chokes out God's spirit.

The big concern we see is the push of the homosexual agenda. There are so many lesser things that slip by often times unnoticed until it's too late. The movies that we watch and that we allow our families to watch are one. We take issue with the violence and the cursing yet how many murders and killing have you watched in your lifetime? How many rapes? How many sexual acts? How many times have we watched witchcraft or magic? or someone stealing or someone doing anything that we knew was wrong and enjoyed it?

Movies are only a small part of what we let into our lives. We feed on the news of our nation and 95% of that is negative information. We read the horoscopes and listen to the fortune tellers and tarot card readers who divine the evil spirits for information? If it doesn't come from God where does it come from? The magazines and newspapers we read are full of negative images and information. How often do we listen to un-Christ like music? Have you listened to the words of your favorite songs? Are they edifying and lifting up God or a fellow Christian? How many men are addicted to porn? Physically what are you letting into your body? Do you smoke? Drink excessive alcohol? Take too many over the counter or prescription drugs? Addicted to caffeine? Are you a glutton feasting after every church service (I am)?

Lest you think that I'm only preaching to you I'm ministering to myself. There are sooooo many areas where I didn't even know I was falling short. I am a Christian and I am in ministry but I also am a man and I struggle with many of the temptations that are common to men. I just wanted to put out some things to think on because it would be a terrible thing for you to have spent all your life thinking that you were the cream of the crop only to find out that your life is based on the immorality of the world.

Nope they dont have to be desserts...

Tres Leches (3 milk cake)

Ingredients

1 yellow cake mix (with pudding) baked as directed in 13 by 9-inch pan

For topping mixture:

1 can evaporated milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pint heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup rum (or to taste)

To finish:

Whipped cream, to cover cake
5 ounces sweetened coconut

Directions

Poke holes in the cake with a fork all over. Pour topping mixture over cake. Let mixture absorb completely in refrigerator.

Cover with whipped cream or cool whip and sprinkle sweetened coconut over top of cake.

OPTIONAL: Add macadamia nuts, cherries and/or pineapple.

No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

8 tablespoons butter
2 cups sugar
3 heaping tablespoons cocoa or 2 squares chocolate.
1/2 cup milk
3 cups dry oatmeal
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

optional
1 cup peanut butter (or fruit or nuts)

Directions:

Spray a pan with non-stick cooking spray. Melt butter slowly. Add sugar, cocoa, and milk. Stir occasionally while the mix comes to a boil. When boiling stir for 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla extract and stir. Add the oatmeal and peanut butter (or fruit or nuts) and stir. Drop by spoon onto a greased cookie sheet or waxed paper and allow to cool uncovered. Refridgerate cookies when cooled.

There are no cures.

There are about 15 various implants in clinical trials atm but none that are approved yet and it will be more years before medicaid would make those available to people which would be the only way we could afford implants.

Does this category support those people who have to take care of mom and dad in their declining years?

I'm there.

Mom developed RP (retinitis pigmentosa) which is supposedly a hereditary eye disease. She's lost almost all of her sight and has been legally blind for 20 years.

Medicaid pays me to keep her at home instead of a nursing home.

Anyway I'm getting frustrated. Almost daily several times a day all I hear is I can't see. It's very frustrating. I love mom but she wont try anything at all to cope with going blind. She wont try new or different ways to do anything.

Within the last few months more and more I watch her and she just sits in her chair and stares at our bare white wall.

Sorry just needed to vent a min...

My neighbors kittens decided to migrate to my under house so now at all times of the night I have half grown cats crawling around my ducts.

I came home from work today and counted 5 at least before they scattered as I got out of the truck.

At least they will thin out the mouse and mole populations.

I suppose if I start feeding them I'll have a yard full of cats in 6 months.

At 38 -- She tells you a story and takes you to bed.

At 48 -- She tells you a story to avoid going to bed.

At 58 -- You stay in bed to avoid her story.

At 68 -- If you take her to bed, that'll be a story!

After looking up and seeing 11:11 three or four or even seven days in a row it gets noticeable. Even more so when I see 11:11 in the morning and at night.

And it's not me looking at the clock say at 11:13 and waiting for the two minutes to pass. I look up and 11:11 will be on the clock.

I also see repeating numbers on receipts, in telephone numbers, on license plates.

For the last couple of months I have been having this cycle of seeing quadruple numbers or triple numbers way too often to be coincidence.

Tonite as I was wrapping up my video gaming I saw 11:11 on the clock. I looked up from what I was doing and saw 11:11.

Some days I've seen every triple number there could be. Other days I may only see 4:44 or more rarely 3:33 or 1:11. I see 11:11 a lot.

It's gotten to the point where I will tell my mom what number I see or I will type it out in my game chat.

Anyone else had this experience and more importantly what do you do with it? I've looked it up on the web and was totally astounded at the number of people who experience this but not very many say what they actually get from it.

I generally buy some cat food from Dollar General for my cats.. The rat terrior even likes their cat food.

I was a semi driver trainer for several years. I was going to Long Island with a student from Memphis and we were passing thru Virginia and decided to stop and eat at one of the truck stops.

They had a pretty good buffet that night and I ate more than usual. We got back to the truck and had a decent nite.

It was my student's turn to drive the next mornin. He asked me if I was ok and being still sleepy I told him to drive. 45 min later I sit up and realize that I have the urge.

I tell him to find a place to pull over and there is nothing for miles and miles. I start rocking back and forth and trying to hold in the flood and beggin him to find a restroom. It wasnt his fault that there wasnt one close by.

I start feeling turtle heads and I grab a trashbag and begin fearin the worst. Not even close. My student spys a restroom and pulls in. I stand up and feel this lovely mass go down my pants. With each step I feel the mush as I get out of the truck, cross the fuel pumps, go thru the store, and finally make it do a toilet.

I mean I left a trail with each step. The inside of my jeans was caked with poo. There was so much poo caked on my lily white butt that what I could see of my thigh was a thick brown.

It took me quite a while to get cleaned up but there was no shower there so all day long I smelled bad... eww...

If I have to pay toll to get into and out of Jersey I prolly wont be visiting...
